I noticed there's .64 files in the Arena folder. Like LOG.64 and AUTOMAP.64, etc. What are they for?

I'm not sure, but I'm wondering if they contain data for your current location and status. You can see that when you save your game to a given save game slot, some of those .64 files get copied to a different extension depending on which slot you saved to-- .00, .01, .02, etc., up to .09-- so presumably the .64 files record your current progress.
