I've met with Lady Brisienna, got entry in Journal about it, but when I ask NPCs about any news they say "Lady Brisienna has left (tavern), muttering about traitors to the Empire."

Had I failed quest? Is it a bug? Or is it just "rumors" and all is OK?

Version 1.07.213 from GOG, with following patches: Fixed Quests, DFQFIX, XtraQuest Patch.

That's the normal course of events. She mentions in previous dialogue that it is not entirely safe for her to be in Daggerfall so she disappears after arranging things with the PC.
