Finding the Morag Tong
29 June 2002

In order to join the Morag Tong, you'll have to find their headquarters hidden in Vivec, as you cannot join at their local guild halls in Balmora, Ald'ruhn, or Sadrith Mora.

Headquarters, Vivec
You will be able to find out that the HQ is in Vivec, and once in Vivec that it is somewhere in the Arena Canton. If you are lucky enough, you might be able to find someone who knows that it is actually hidden under the Arena in the Storage Area. Sure enough, you should be able to find a locked trapdoor behind some crates which leads to the Morag Tong guild Head Quarters. Once inside, find and speak with Eno Hlaalu at the back of the top level to join.

Balmora
The Balmora guild hall is out in the open on the North West side of town. Speak with Ethasi Rilvayn inside to receive your quests.

Ald'ruhn

Sadrith Mora
Note that, unlike other guilds, you can receive most quests from any of the 4 quest givers in the Morag Tong, though there are a few specific quests. Similarily, you can report success to any of the 4, and not just the one you received the writ from.

Joining the Morag Tong
29 June 2002

Once you find Eno Hlaalu at the guild Head Quarters in Vivec, he will ask you to prove your worth by performing the execution of Feruren Oran. Oran can be found in the Elven Nations Cornerclub in Vivec's Hlaalu Canton, Plaza level. Eno will also give you a writ for Oran's murder which you can present to the guards after the murder to clear your bounty (just for that murder however). Report back to Eno once Oran is dead to be admitted into the guild.

Mephala Shrine Quest
29 June 2002

This quest is often confused with a Morag Tong quest as you receive it from Taros Dral in the Morag Tong headquarters in Vivec. The quest involves poisoning Balyn Omarel in Balmora with some Treated Bittergreen Petal. For more information see the Mephala Shrine Quest walkthrough.

Odaishah Yasalmibaal and Toris Saren
29 June 2002

Saren can be found in the Saren Manor on the Redoran Plaza in Vivec. Yasalmibaal is a ways away, on an island North West of Tel Fyr, alone in his yurt. Return to a guild quest giver to receive 500 gold for each writ.

Sarayn Sadus, Idroso Vendu, and Ethal Seloth
29 June 2002

Sadus can be found in a cave named Zaintirari, West of Tel Fyr, and North of the Erabenimsum Camp. Sadus is guarded by a number of of his bandit friends. Vendu and Seloth can be found together in the Temporary Housing off the Telvanni Plaza level in Vivec. Return to a quest giver for a total of 1500 gold for the writs.

Guril Retheran and Galasa Uvayn
29 June 2002

Retheran can be found on the bottom level of the Flowers of Gold Cornerclub in Vivec's Redoran Canton. You might want to hang onto the Sanguine item that he carries, as you need it for a later quest. Uvayn can be found in the Hlaalu Treasury in Vivec and is a capable spellcaster. You will be paid 1000 gold for each of the murders once you report in.

Mavon Drenim and Tirer Belvayn
29 June 2002

Mavon can be found in the Upperworks of the Telvanni Canton in Vivec and is a powerful spellcaster that will attack you as soon as you enter. Belvayn is similarily a powerful mage and can be found in the dungeon of Shara, on the South West coast of the Dagon Fel island at the North of the map (position 25100, 170000). You are paid 1000 gold for the completion of each writ.

Mathyn Bemis and Brilnosu Llarys
29 June 2002

Bemis leads a gang of thieves in the Hlaalu Ancestral Vault in the Hlaalu Canton Underworks in Vivec. Three of the four thieves are together and provide a good challenge, and good loot. Llarys can be found on the roof of the Hloramaren Stronghold along the coast, West of Balmora. You receive 1000 gold for each assassination.

Navil and Ranes Ienith
25 June 2003

This quest is basically identical to the Thieves Guild quest to kill these two Camonna Tong brothers, so you might have already completed it. Both brothers can be found in the basement of the Dren Plantation Villa, behind two locked doors (Ranes is invisible and will appear behind you once you attack Navil). Be careful, these two and powerful and can be a tough fight, especially with their paralysing daggers. You earn 1000 gold for each of the murders.

There is a possible bug in this quest. If you kill both the brothers but cannot finish the quest when you talk to the Morag Tong guild members, open the console and enter the command:

Journal, MT_WritNavil, 100
This should allow you to finish the quest successfully.

Grandmaster Writs
19 January 2003

There are several quests that become available once you finish the main quest (Dagoth Ur is dead) and you have been named Grandmaster of the guild by Eno Hlaalu. Unfortunately, though, it appears to be slightly more complicated than that, at least according to the dialogue information in the editor. The dialogue topic entry that give you the grandmaster writ is in the incorrect order, resulting in you always receiving the

We have no Writs of execution at this time, Grandmaster

response. Fortunately you can still perform the quests by either killing the target without the writ or by asking the Morag Tong quest giver directly about the person. For each grandmaster writ, there are also some further requirements as described below.

Larrius Varro
To receive his writ, you will have need to completed the Mathun Bemis, Navil/Ranes Ienith, and Brilnosu Llarys writs. If you kill Varro without the writ, the guild faction adjustment is reduced from +20 to +5.

Baladas Demnevanni
To receive his writ, you will have need to completed the Mathun Bemis, Navil/Ranes Ienith, and Brilnosu Llarys writs. If you kill Baladas without the writ, the guild faction adjustment is reduced from +15 to +5.

Dram Bero
To receive his writ, you will have need to completed Mathun Bemis writ and have not accepted either the Navil/Ranes Ienith or Brilnosu Llarys writs. If you kill Bero without the writ, the guild faction adjustment is reduced from +20 to +5.

Mistress Therana
To receive her writ, you will have need to completed the Mathun Bemis, Navil/Ranes Ienith, and Brilnosu Llarys writs. If you kill Baladas without the writ, the guild faction adjustment is reduced from +20 to +10.

Grandmaster Writ: Larrius Varro
29 June 2002

Once Dagoth Ur is dea, you've been named Grandmaster of the guild and have completed the Mathun Bemis, Navil/Ranes Ienith, and Brilnosu Llarys writs, return to any of the quest givers to receive the writ of Larrius Varro. Varro is the head of the Imperial Legion and can be found in the Fort Moonmoth barracks. He is a tough cookie, despite his regular armour, and wields a nice weapon. Temreki, Shackler of Souls. Return to any quest giver for the 4000 gold reward.

Grandmaster Writ: Baladas Demnevanni
29 June 2002

Once Dagoth Ur is dead and you've been named Grandmaster of the guild, return to any of the quest givers to receive the writ of Baladas Demnevanni. Baladas lives in Arvs-Drelen in Gnisis and is a powerful spellcaster. Return to any quest giver for the 5000 gold reward.

Grandmaster Writ: Dram Bero
29 June 2002

Once Dagoth Ur is dead, you've been named Grandmaster of the guild, completed Mathun Bemis writ and have not accepted either the Navil/Ranes Ienith or Brilnosu Llarys writs, return to any of the quest givers to receive the writ of Dram Bero. If you're a part of the Hlaalu House, you may have already found and meet with this council member, found in the bottom of the Haunted Manor on the Plaza of St. Olms District in Vivec. Once you kill Bero, you'll receive a message about breaking the link of prophecy, but this doesn't matter since you've already finished the main quest. Return to any quest giver for your 3000 gold reward.

Grandmaster Writ: Mistress Therana
29 June 2002

Once Dagoth Ur is dead, you've been named Grandmaster of the guild, and completed the Mathun Bemis, Navil/Ranes Ienith, and Brilnosu Llarys writs, return to any of the quest givers to receive the writ of Therana. This Telvanni council member may already be dead since this is one option during the the main quest when you are named as Telvanni Hortator. If not, you can find her in the Upper Tower in Tel Branora (South East corner of the map). Return to any quest giver for your 10,000 gold reward.

Threads of the Webspinner
11 June 2003

Depending on how much exploring of the game you've done, you may have come across a number of Sanguine items that increase various skills when worn. These items are actually several of the 27 created by the Daedra Lord Sanguine for the Morag Tong patron, Mephala. 26 of the item can be found scattered across the island, and the last (Amulet of Sanguine Enterprise, +5 Mercantile) is held by the Morag Tong guildmaster, Eno Hlaalu in Vivec.

Speak with guildmaster Eno Hlaalu about the items and you'll find that if you return all of the remaining 26, you will receive an elaborate reward from Mephala. You can return the items to Hlaalu at any time, though you most do so before you complete the Grandmaster quest for him and he disappears. Most of the sanguine items that currently belong to someone, are owned by a Dark Brotherhood agent or Mehrunes Dagon worshipper, who will generally attack you on sight meaning you are safe from the law.

1. Amulet of Sanguine Enterprise
This is the one item you don't need to find, as it is already held by Eno Hlaalu.

2. Amulet of Sanguine Glib Speech
This amulet currently belongs to Shotherra who you can find at Thongar's in Khuul. Unfortunately, Shotherra is a peaceful person who you'll have to end up killing to get the amulet.

3. Amulet of Sanguine Nimble Armour
4. Ring of Sanguine Fluid Evasion
5. Glove of Sanguine Swift Blade
All three of these Sanguine items can be found on Severa Magia, a powerful magic user in the Shrine of Ald Sotha, North East of Vivec.

6. Belt of Sanguine Balanced Armour
7. Belt of Sanguine Deep Biting
This belt can be found on Relas Arothan in the Shrine of Assernerairen, found on the Underworks level of Vivec St. Olms District.

8. Belt of Sanguine Denial
This belt can be found on Movis Darys in the Ald'ruhn Mages Guild.

9. Belt of Sanguine Fleetness
This belt can be found on Hrordis in the Halfway Tavern in Pelagiad.

10. Belt of Sanguine Hewing
11. Belt of Sanguine Sureflight
This belt can be found on Durus Marius in the Shrine of Assernerairen, found on the Underworks level of Vivec St. Olms District.

12. Belt of Sanguine Impaling Thrust
This belt can be found on Gluronk gra-Shula on the 2nd floor of Sadrith's Mora Gateway Inn. Gluronk is another of the few peaceful NPCs that hold a sanguine item.

13. Belt of Sanguine Martial Craft
This belt can be found on Carecalmo in the Shrine of Ashalmimilkala on the West coast, West of Balmora, North of Hla Oad.

14. Belt of Sanguine Smiting
This belt can be found on Domba in the Ald Daedroth Shrine, North West of the Ahemmusa Camp, and South East of Dagon Fel.

15. Belt of Sanguine Stolid Armour
This belt can be found on Mindeli Saren in the Shrine of Yasammidan on the far Western coast of the mainland, North West of Gnisis.

16. Glove of Sanguine Horny Fist
This glove can be found on Guril Retheran found on the bottom level of the Flowers of Gold Cornerclub in Vivec's Redoran Canton (you may have assassinated him already in a previous Morag Tong quest).

17. Glove of Sanguine Safekeeping
This glove can be found on Inganar in the Shrine of Ularradallaku, found in the Ghostfence region roughly North East of Ald'ruhn.

18. Ring of Sanguine Golden Wisdom
This ring is held by Talis Veran in Shrine of Ebernanit, on the Northern coast of the mainland, roughly in the center (position 4100, 143000).

19. Ring of Sanguine Green Wisdom
This ring can be found on Gnaw Tooth in the Ald Daedroth Shrine, North West of the Ahemmusa Camp, and South East of Dagon Fel.

20. Ring of Sanguine Red Wisdom
21. Ring of Sanguine Transcedance
22. Ring of Sanguine Transfiguring
These rings can be found on Llandrale Varam in the shrine of Ald Sotha, North East of Vivec.

23. Ring of Sanguine Silver Wisdom
This ring can be found on Earmil in the Shrine of Assurnabitashpi, along the Northern coast, East of Khuul (note that there are two entrances and areas in this shrine, so if you can't find Earmil in one area, try the other).

24. Ring of Sanguine Sublime Wisdom
Thie ring can be found on Anel Rethelas in the Shrine of Yasammidan on the far Western coast of the mainland, North West of Gnisis.

25. Ring of Sanguine Unseen Wisdom
This ring can be found on Erundil in the Stronghold of Indoranyon, on the Eastern coast, North of Tel Aruhn.

26. Shoes of Sanguine Leaping
These shoes can be found on the Khajiit Dro'Zaymar found in Canal South-Tree in Vivec's St. Delyn Canton. Dro'Zaymar is another peaceful sanguine holder, but since there are no witnesses, you are relatively safe to do as you please.

27. Shoes of Sanguine Stalking
These shoes can be found on Thovasi Alen in the Shrine of Assarnatamat, found North East of Balmora (South East of Caldera), just inside the Ashland area.

Once you turn in all 26 Sanguine items to Eno Hlaalu, you are rewarded with a cheap spell that casts Chameleon, Fortify Attack, and Fortify Short Blade (that never fails). This is the only known source for the Fortify Skill spell effect.

In the latest patch (v1.2) the Fortify Short Blade component of the spell is removed, meaning that there is no known source for the Fortify Skill spell effect. If you have the expansion, Tribunal, you can buy Fortify Skill spells from Nerile Andaren in the Temple's Halls of Ministry.

Contact the Dark Brotherhood
30 June 2002

Once you reach the rank of Thrall, you can ask Eno Hlaalu in the Vivec Guild hall about special duties. The first mission is to contact the Dark Brotherhood, an old offshoot of the Morag Tong and currently deadly enemies. You are to contact the Brotherhood through the Vivec enchanter, Miun-Gei in the Lower Waistworks section of the Foreign Quarter. If you raise Miun-Gei's disposition enough, he'll tell you that his contact is a Khajiit named Tsrazami in Vivec's Market Canton (you can also find this out by searching Muin-Gei's bedroom downstairs).

Return to Eno with the information about the Dark Brotherhood contact.

Belt of Sanguine Fleetness
30 November 2003

Once you reach the rank of Thrall, Eno Hlaalu in the Vivec Guild hall will tell you that a Dark Brotherhood member named Hrordis, in the Halfway Tavern in Pelagiad, has the Belt of Sanguine Fleetness. If you've already done the Threads of the Webspinner quest, you may have already found and returned this Belt. Unfortunately, you won't be able to persuade Hrordis or steal the belt, so you are forced to kill her. If you use a Command Human type spell you can lure her outside and kill her safely there.

Return to Eno with the Belt for his congratulations.

Includes Contributions from Daniel Matyasi and Donald.

Perusade Movis Darys
30 June 2002

Once you reach the rank of Thrall, Eno Hlaalu in the Vivec Guild hall will ask you to try and convince the Dark Brotherhood member Movis Darys to turn and join the Morag Tong. If you cannot persuade him you will have to kill him. Movis can be found in the Ald'ruhn Mages guild and can be convinced to join if you raise his disposition above 70 or so. If you do need to kill him, the guild will provide a writ pay for the murder like any other job. You can also get the belt of Sanguine Denial from Movis while you're at it (you should be able to persuade it from him).

Return to Eno with news (and possibly a Sanguine Belt) for his congratulations.

Carecalmo Ultimatum
21 September 2002

Once you reach the rank of Thrall, Eno Hlaalu in the Vivec Guild hall will ask you to deliver an ultimatum to Carecalmo, a worshipper of Mehrunes Dagon who are aiding the Dark Brotherhood. Carecalmo can be found in the Shrine of Ashalmimilkala on the West coast, West of Balmora, North of Hla Oad. If you can get him to listen, attempt to persuade him to the ultimatum, though ultimately you will be forced to attack (if he doesn't attack you first). Carecalmo holds the Belt of Sanguine Martial Craft.

Return to Eno once Carecalmo is dead for his congratulations.

Ring of Sanguine Sublime Wisdom
30 June 2002

Once you reach the rank of Thrall, Eno Hlaalu in the Vivec Guild hall will ask you to recover the Ring of Sanguine Sublime Wisdom from Anel Rethelas in the Shrine of Yasammidan on the far Western coast of the mainland, North West of Gnisis. You can also find Mindela Saren in the Shrine who has another Sanguine item, the Belt of Stolid Armour. This is one of two Sanguine items that Eno will ask you directly to retrieve (other than indirectly from his Threads of the Webspinner quest).

Return to Eno with the Ring for his congratulations.

Kill Durus Marius
30 June 2002

Once you reach the rank of Thrall, Eno Hlaalu in the Vivec Guild hall will ask you to kill a Dark Brotherhood member, Durus Marius, in the Shrine of Assernerairan in the Underworks of the St. Olm District in Vivec. There are a number of enemies in the Shrine and the close quarters might make the fight rather tricky. You can find 4 of the Sanguine items carried by the people in the shrine.

Return to Eno once Durus is dead for his congratulations and a 2000 gold reward.

Kill Severa Magia
30 June 2002

Once you reach the rank of Thrall, Eno Hlaalu in the Vivec Guild hall will ask you to kill the Dark Brotherhood leader, Severa Magia, found with the Shrine of Ald Sotha, North East of Vivec. Amoung other things inside the shrine, you can find no less than 6 Sanguine items.

Return to Eno once Severa is dead for his congratulations.

Become Grandmaster
30 June 2002

Once you reach the rank of Exalted Master, Eno Hlaalu in the Vivec Guild hall will tell you that he wishes to quit the guild and place you in charge. Traditionally, the Morag Tong guildmaster is choosen when the old one is executed, but you are given the option to let Eno go gracefully. You can do either, the easiest is to simply agree with Eno in which case you become Grandmaster merely by your choice of dialogue options. Otherwise, you can kill Eno anytime after you reach the rank of Master to become the new guild master.

Note that becoming Grandmaster of the guild will prevent you from completing the Threads of the Webspinner quest if you haven't finished it yet. Once you become Grandmaster, visit any of the other quest givers to receive a number of Grandmaster writs.
