Quick Walkthrough

1. Loiter, rest, or do something for around 24 hours and then talk to anyone.
2. Travel to the Palaza Brindisi Dorom and help the guards against the machine attack.
3. Talk to any Royal Guard and be directed to Tienius Delitian.
4. Alternate: Report to a High Ordinator and be directed to Fedris Hler in the Temple (skip some Palace quests).
5. Talk to Tienius in the Royal Throne Room and receive the task of investigating the attack.
6. Travel back to the Palaza and enter the Dwemer ruins through the broken statue in the center.
7. Watch the fight until you receive a journal entry and return to Tienius.

What Next?

After returning Barilzar's Band to Almalexia you may be left a little confused over what to do next as neither Drin, nor Fedris, or even Almalexia herself will have anything for you to do. In order to start the next series of events you will have to wait around a little bit (try resting for 24 hours or so or go exploring somewhere). After a time everyone you speak to will tell you of an attack on the Plaza Brindisi Dorom by strange enchanted machines. You won't be able to conduct any business at this point since you are forced to quit the dialogue (the good old 'Goodbye').

Plaza Brindisi Dorom

Take a trip to the Plaza which is the Southern section in the city of Mournhold. Once inside you'll find a number of Hulking and Verminous Fabricants attacking the guards. Join the fray and help the guards defeat the metal beasts (the guards seem to do ok so you can probably just watch if you want to). Once all the Fabricants have been defeated you will receive a journal entry to that effect. Speak to any surviving guards in the area and they will tell you to go and report the attack to Tienius Delitian at the Royal Palace.

Tienius Delitian

Tienius can be found in the Royal Palace Throneroom, though you won't find anyone who will actually give you this information so it can be quite the hunt to find him (don't overlook him since he has that red Royal Armour on but is without a helm). Once you've found him he will ask you to look into the disturbance and find their true source. Tienius says that the attacks seem to originate from some Dwemer ruins deep beneath the city. An entrance that may lead to these ruins has been found beneath the Memorial Statue which was destroyed in the attack on the Plaza. You are to explore the ruins and find out where the creatures originate from.

Dwemer Ruins

Return to the Plaza Brindise Dorom and the destroyed statue at the center of it. Climb up on it and you'll see a crack in the floor leading down to darkness as well as a ladder. Click the ladder to begin your exploration in Bamz-Amschend, Hearthfire Hall. Once you descend the tunnel quickly opens up to a huge chamber where you might be lucky enough to see some Fabricants battling it out. You will receive a journal entry to this effect and can now actually return to Tienius to complete the quest. The rest of this very large ruins is explored in a future quest (though feel free to do so now).

If you don't receive the journal entry be sure you are as close into the big hall as possible. If this still doesn't work you can use the following console cheat to bypass this:

Journal, "TR_Bamz", 50

Return to Tienius Delitian

Again, you only have to view the machine fight and receive the journal entry in order to return to Tienius and report what you have found. Tienius with tell you that Kind Helseth (now standing beside him) wishes to speak with you.

Alternate Route

If you speak with a High Ordinator in the plaza (instead of a Royal Guard), he demands you report immediately to Fedris Hler in the Temple. Hler then asks to investigate the hole opened in the center of plaza (similar to orders of Tienius Delitian). After seeing fight among new and old fabricants, you go back to report this to temple and then you are forwarded to Almalexia. She then gives you quest to investigate the End of Times Cult. So it seems that you can skip few more Royal Palace quests.
