Avatars have to be 135px x 135px and 29kb or smaller unless you use a non-local host, then the data size doesn't matter, but it still has to be 135 x 135

If the image is remotely hosted like with photobucket or imgur, you would only need the URL. Paste it into the link off site input box and click submit. That should work.

How many posts does it take before you are allowed to post URLs in posts?

I have no idea where this number is coming from, but I seem to recall 10 posts being the limit?

What happened to the 'Mark topics read' button on the board index? It isn't there any more.

The board index has a 'Mark Forums Read' link at the bottom right of the board.

'Mark Topics Read' is at the top left when you're in a sub-forum.

Wasn't there one on the top of the board index though?

Not that I know of. Only in sub-forums.

Did you know it's not possible to bookmark locked topics? Is that intentional?

I personally use the bookmark facility whenever I run into a particularly interesting or amusing or informative thread on the forum. Sometimes these threads are old, and might be locked.

Of course, there is always my browser's bookmark facility, but I prefer to keep bookmarks on the forum itself so I have them wherever I'm logged in from. (Laptop, phone, or someone else's computer).

Are you sure about that? I was just able to bookmark two different locked topics. You're using the link in the top left of the forum, right?

I'm sure that I was getting an error message before, but it works now. Must have been some temporary database blip . Ah well. At least I now know that it's *supposed* to work!

Reporting that unicode characters still can't be posted.

This fix was implemented in phpBB 3.0.8. We are currently running 3.0.11 and will be updating to 3.0.12 over the weekend. That fix was for images with extra parameters in the url, which the image Alarra was trying to use did not have. I appreciate the help, though! If you come across anything else, feel free to report it here!

As for unicode characters, phpBB supports Unicode UTF-8 characters. You even have some in your signature.

Edit: I seem to recall you were talking about in your profile. You can use unicode in everything except status, platform, and ES Games. Those three are custom profile fields so are not parsed like the rest of the fields, unfortunately. I'll look into it further, though.

Edit 2: Newly created profile fields accept unicode. My guess is that the ES Games, Status, and Platform fields were all added some time ago and may have some outdated code attached to them. I'll be going through and seeing if I can find anything out. If it's database related I'm not sure I can fix it, as I don't have direct access to the database. I could probably ask for it, though. We'll see.

Edit 3: (Sorry for the continuing edits) looks like it's in the database. The columns for those profile fields seem to not have a default error value due to the forums being updated without the schema being updated. I'll talk to Dave and see what we can do. (this is in regards to unicode, btw. image issue is still up in the air)
