I'll admit I'm a little sketchy on the details at the moment. Given my lack of technical aptitude and vague idea of how the forum actually works etc. It was more of a conceptual idea rather than a firm proposal.

Given that so far there has only been 13 people in this discussion. My main concern is how do we actually get a wider participation rather than the 6 or 7 people assuming that some of us may drop out due to time commitments or just becuase the competiiton isn't one that interests us.

Is the problem that it doesn't look icy enough, or that you just don't like the idea of ice armor?

I LOVE the idea of ice armor, I just think the texture is really blurry and could use some work, from what I can see in those pictures, maybe it's not like that for you.

Well, weasel did say he wanted to make it a contest. You should make your own version!

I'd love to, but I'm afraid that I don't currently have a gaming PC, and I really don't plan on getting one, which is kind of odd, because I love gaming, I love creating game-related art, but honestly, right now I don't feel the need to save up ~$700 to get a gaming right that can run Skyrim on Medium-High, just to play mods. Call me crazy.

So no CS for me at the moment.

It looks like it has dragon claw marks on it. Was that intended?

I didn't actually create a new texture for it. I used existing textures and shaders and set a bunch of flags in nifskope to get that effect. Anyway, I was going more for "looks interesting" than "looks exactly like an armor forged out of frozen water would look." So, no, it wasn't intentional, but when I saw how it looked, I didn't see any reason to change it.

What about a sort of play written by all of us? Each person who wants to participate could be given a character and the story line could be made up by admin. Think D&D meets ES. I think it could be kind of coll. Maybe not? What do you all think?

Maybe a play where we all write different roles?

I dislike the idea. I never liked the trivia games, and that just seems like an even greater waste of time than the normal ones.

Also, unlike projects that require you to create something, this isn't really a test of the user's skills. It's more of a test of your ability to Google or memorize random facts.

Just a shame that making this post wasn't a waste of your precious time. If you don't like an idea why not suggest something different that everyone can take part in?

Mmmm. Anyone who makes me a Skyrim logo out of cake is a winner.

Let's start up competitions again next month and use this month to plan. This allows us all to get into shape with recent team changes and all. Also, the great thing about competitions is that they're voluntary, so if you don't want to join in, you don't have to!

Also, it would have to be made by users, so proof of baking would need to be shown.

We spent two weeks discussing CotM for September and got nowhere. Why do I feel that in a months time we will be in the same situation unless some structure is put in place. I suggest the following:

week 1 - ideas (no discussion or we will get no where again)
week 2 - poll (1st past the post or AV)
week 3 - announcement
week 4 - spam (it's going to happen so I figured best to include it)
week 5 - Oct CotM begins!

Feel free to alter this to your needs. Alternatively, rather than everybody coming up with ideas and then a general vote we could put a small 3-4 person committee in place to come up with ideas which are submitted to Avron who picks one.
