It's true I'm the one designated to approve RPs at the moment, but I'm not the only Mod that handles reports in that sub-forum. All General sub-forums are the TPMs' domain, so they handle things just as much as I do.

I'm not sure what you mean by your second question.

We check and deal with reports several times a day. If you reported a post but see no action, that doesn't mean we haven't handled it behind the scenes. You can also check the box to email you when your report has been handled. Some issues are discussed among the team, so action may take a day or so. I can tell you that as of this moment there are no open reports.

The second one was an AKB joke.

Thanks. By length of time, i mean, when is it no longer worth reporting due to the amount of time? as i've spotted some double posts that haven't been reported but due to the age of them, i've not reported it.

If more than a week has gone bye, then don't worry about it, especially in General, as those posts don't count toward the user's total anyway.

The Moderating Team has been discussing double posts recently and may comment on them in the near future.

Thanks. Also, what's the stance on multiple videos being posted in a thread without hidden tags? As there are a few posts that have that. For example, the adverstising thread, there is a post without any hidden tags and has 6 videos in and nothing has been done about it. I'm just curious and admittly, i didn't report it because of it. (Was for the double post)

We prefer that they'd be in hide tags to keep posts from getting too tall and make it easier for those browsing on mobile devices. You can report them and we'll just stick a "hide" tag in there.

I've been noticing friendly reminders over the last few days to put long posts/"walls of text" into [hide] tags. I didn't see anything in What Would Avron Do? or UESP Forum Rules & FAQ that suggested any guidelines for post length.

So, how long is too long?

About the rules, the part on sexually explicit material seems rather vague to me:

Quote:
No Sexually Explicit Material - This means no links to, or pictures/videos/text in your profile about suggestive material or containing blatant innuendos. Protect the innocence of the young, please.

Just what constitutes suggestive material? Would a picture of a model in underwear be ok? Would a picture of breastfeeding be ok? Is non-sexual nudity automatically classified as suggestive?

Are we allowed to talk about sex in a responsible and mature fashion or is that deemed suggestive?

I kinda like to talk about sex so it would be nice to know what this rule actually means in practice.

Hi Teatime, good question! Basically any image relating to sex in any way should be avoided. If you would think that this image might be received in a sexual manner, then it's best to not post it. Alternatively, feel free to message a mod privately about it, for a second opinion. Discussing the matter is slightly more allowable, if it naturally comes up (no innuendo intended) in conversation. Topics specifically on the subject should not be created, however. And topics specifically on the act itself, sexual preferences, and sexual identity shouldn't be created.

Sorry, I don't think this is the answer you were hoping for, but these forums are intended to be allowable for people ages thirteen and up.

There isn't a specific guideline, it's more of a general courtesy thing. Some people don't like scrolling past those walls of text, so if you think it looks long, or are asked by another user, it might be polite to put it in a [hide] tag. ;)

So as I saw with AKB and MM today, the mods can change people's names quite quickly, is it something in the administrative control panel or on the user's page? Just how does the name change process work?

Administrative control panel, yeah; there's a link on each person's page if we want to do something with that specific user. We just log in there, edit the username field, and that's that!

When a Moderator views a profile they are presented with several links that users can't see. They include "Warn User", "Banning", and "Administrate User". Warning and Banning are done in the Moderating Control Panel, while changes to a profile (including changes to a username) are done via the Administrative Control Panel. All this information (as well as a demo that lets you see all the backend stuff) is available to the public on the phpBB website.

Hope this answers your question! :D

Hello mod team. I hope I'm not disturbing you. Is there any chance that I could get added to the confirmed users group. It just constantly says pending for the last two days. Thank you very much.

I was trying to register my username on chat but I accidentally missed a letter out in my email address. Now I cant redo it with the correct address, as it tells me to check my email for the passcode.
(I dont think the email I typed incorrectly will actually exist either).

Is there a way to fix it? Thanks.

There is.

When you next sign on chat, use this command: /msg NickServ CANCEL [password]

[password] is the password you used when you registered.

That will cancel the previous registration and allow you to re-register with the correct email address. :D

Thanks! That worked and its registered now. However...

when I log in, the first 'window' comes up with this message...

<NickServ>: This nickname is registered and protected. If it is your
<NickServ>: nick, type /msg NickServ IDENTIFY password. Otherwise,
<NickServ>: please choose a different nick.

But then the chat window opens as usual and I do not have to type any password or anything in. Not sure why it doesn't need the password?
:S

It'll let you keep the name for one minute, and if a password is not entered by that time it'll change it to Guest19563 or something along those lines. To enter your password, it's "/ns id [password]", with your password of course instead of [password].

I thought that, so I stayed on for 5 minutes or so and it didn't do anything - just normal.

Hmm, that's odd. I'm not sure why it didn't kick you out of the name.

It does that with me a lot, as well. I think it may have something to do with using the link here, instead of another site.

That happens with several users, actually, and I don't know why.

It sounds like your kill protection has become disabled for some reason, Aarah. If you want to re-enable it, use
/msg nickserv SET kill ON

Similarly, if anyone has a laggy connection and can't always get their password typed in within 60 seconds, they could use /msg nickserv SET kill OFF
