I looked...and looked...aaand looked. But didn't find one, so I might as well start one.

Well, so fa, I'm completely overwhelemd by this game. I love my hunting rifle, my Fat Man, and my very trustworthy Scoped Magnum. My current character is very good, he took out the bomb in Megaton...just because I thought, if I detonated it, it'd destroy me...I have not found Dogmeat, just because I'm too freaking timid to travle anywhere 5 yards away from GNR or Megaton...I had to force my self to travel out the wasteland just to get to GNR in the first place! Though, it gives a more edgy side to the game...something I really didn't feel with Oblivion...

I do have a few gripes though.

1.Only outfits and helmets, no room for diffrent shirts/pants/shoes/gauntlets.
2.....?

Ok, well, one...gripe. Ehh...

I don't like how you can't play after the main quest, but the upcoming 360 update fixes that.

I love the game, some people say that it's just Oblivion with guns. Well, I like Oblivion and I like guns so it's a win.

10/10

I've seriously been having the hardest time playing. I think Oblivion ruined RPG games for me. Oblivion is a "pick up and play" kind of game. Fallout is a lot harder at least for me. I've got to worry about finding ammo, stimpaks, guns that I can use to repair other guns. Plus worry about not skipping Quests. And I think leveling is more difficult in Fallout. I seriously need to rethink my play style.

No way! I was looking for a Fallout 3 topic too and was about to start one then I see this. I guess you beat me to it.

I like the game, it is a lot like Oblivion.
My favorite thing is the alien blaster, one shot kill everytime, too bad it has limited ammo.

I like the FPS and Turn based elements (Vats) spliced together

You were right to be cautious about traveling in the wastes, especially if you're a high level then you gotta worry about the Yao Guais popping out of nowhere and mauling you.

i love the game, every time i see a super mutant i think A) Holy @$#& and B) where's my hunting rifle? i abosolutely love it only problem is yesterday my godforsaken 360 broke before i could finish the game guess ill have to wait 2-4 weeks to do it again oh well but anyway the quests are fun the wasteland scares me S**Tless sometime and its well like oblivion with guns and i like guns...a lot or at least more than any 14 year old ever should.

Lunar, I had the same problem as you, but did you get the many stimpaks that were in Vault 101? That helped me in the beginning of the game.

Anyway, I would suggest you got Ol' Painless from the Republic of Dave, and Blackhawk from Agatha by giving her a sheet music book (I think that's only after recovering the Soil Stradivarius), they are an enchanced Hunting rifle and Scoped .44 magnum, respectively.

So far, fantastic, 2/5 behemoths downed, and have done about every marked quest in the game. Started my new character of evil karma, very impressed with the game so far.

Okay, well my first character was a small guns/sneak person, just to get used to the game, and do the main quest, but I want to ask, since I had a pseudo-character before, who was going to use energy weapons. Assuming no progress in any questlines, is it a viable plan to use only energy weapons or big guns? I didn't find any ammo for them for ages. (Mild spoiler: I mean, once the Enclave gets you, of course there's enough ammo for energy weapons :P)

Energy and Big weapons up until maybe level 6-7 is NOT a good idea, as I found out on my #2 character, unless you have a death wish, of course.

Ah, okay, I'll make sure to keep my agility/strength/endurance at at least five, so I can actually use some sort of weapon until then. I was planning to have reasonably high endurance (for unarmed) anyway.

You will also want to find the Tesla Power Armor as soon as possible, at mid-level you cna probably get some near Alexandria arms, where some Enclave will drop off and fight some raiders, easy to just mop up the leftovers.

Just started my third character yesterday. :P My last character, Rain, could easily take down a Deathclaw so I decided to make things a bit harder this time by having unarmed, explosives and big guns as offensive skills and I'm trying to use unarmed as much as possible.
This game is so much fun! :D

I've just started my 2nd proper character.

Energy Weapons, Repair and Lockpick are his tag skills, and he has pretty low Agility, so I can't always rely on V.A.T.S.

THE GAME IS AMAZIIING.

Simply. I only made 1 character so far, and went trough the main quest, and only did like 3 secondary quests, and I mean, the game is huge.

I don't agree it's like Oblivion though, only controls and maybe the Pip Boy are the same. I am going to start a 2nd character (this time an evil one) when I get off my LBP addiction.

Ok, the game does [&@%!] me off sometimes like right now, I can't find Walter, the guy who buys scrap metal for 10 caps a piece, and I have almost 40 scrap metal, I think he might've died somehow, like fell through the map or something. It does freeze often, but that might just be my Xbox.

Valus, you can also sell scrap metal to Winthrop, in Underworld. That's in the Museum of History, in the Mall.

It crashes relatively often for me too. I'd estimate an average of 1.5 times/day I've played it. I think it may just be the engine, since Oblivion has a habit of crashing.

Well, in Super Duper mart there are a few Energy Pistols and ammo off to the right...as long as you dont mind...the...hooked...bodies...

On a somewhat lighter note, I was listening to GNR the other day, and to my surprise, a lovely PSA came one that went something like this:

"Remember kids, dont feed the Yao Guai...."

I think I've got myself a new sig...

Have you gotten the Fat Man near GNR?

 @ Lunar

Mine is "...and for god sakes don't go waving the white flag! They'll just strangle you with it."

Anyway, I had problems with the Lincoln Memorial, idiots in Underworld kept saying 'east' when it was actually to the West.
