The title is pretty self-explanatory. And don't pull any of that "I don't have one" stuff. You must have one or two songs that come to mind.

Mine's "Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)" by Arcade Fire. I've loved the song ever since I first heard it. Throw in some nostalgia and I've got myself a keeper.

I don't think I can define any single song as my "favourite of all time" by any measure, so I'm going to list a few that are the high point of my overarching taste in music. You can assume that these are political and/or contain S W E A R S

What's to note is that I don't listen to them very often but they still come to mind very easily.

Neutral Milk Hotel - Ghost:

Frank Ocean - Nikes:

Rage Against The Machine - Bullet In The Head:

Sufjan Stevens - Age of Adz:

Cornelius - Star Fruits Surf Rider:

Also as a bonus this is probably my favourite live performance ever:

The only one of those I've actually heard before is Ghost. And, well, Star Fruits Surf Rider, but that was from you. Anyway, they're all really good!

Nice picks from both of you. Only a few of which I'd heard before.

I mean yeah, there's a tonne of different music of various genres I love. So you know narrowing it down to one is ehhh *wiggly hand gesture*. But I'll try to do so. It actually became really obvious to me who my "favorite" musical artist is when I tried to think about it for a while a few months back. Like how it became obvious what my favorite video game is when I did the same thing (Fallout: New Vegas by the way.) I was just like oh yeah, of course he is.

So my favorite song has to come from Pat the Bunny, someone I only really discovered in 2016 and has been in numerous bands and done solo work. I feel as though I liked music well enough before I discovered him but I never really *loved* it in the same way I do now. It really changed how I experienced music, and it made me appreciate artists I already like so much more. There's such a raw humanity to his vocals and lyrics, it's almost hard to describe. There's a passion that Pat put into his lyrics which lets you empathize so strongly with another human. There's just a way he talks about addiction, politics, desperation and well, hope. Then combined with the strength of the instruments and his actual vocal work. I love it. I picked two songs, one of his louder and one of his calmer tracks. The style is pretty different and it's impossible to choose which I like more. So ultimately yes, it kinda is a cop out. But I don't really care, I was still able to narrow it down this much.

And I can 100% guarantee it's political and contains swears.

One song from each of my three favourite genres.

Aesop Rock - Daylight (prod. Blockhead):

The Libertines - Can't Stand Me Now:

The Lumineers - Sleep on the Floor:

Last song doubles as having my favourite music video of all time.

Mars I salute you for your RATM nomination. They're probably in my top 5 fav bands.

But for the OP yeah this is kinda impossible to answer because it changes from time to time. However here's a quick 3 songs that come to mind to give you an idea of what I'm into (just using links, am lazy):

Hey, Hey What Can I Do - Zeppelin
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epX8Th4aiMc

Change - Blind Melon (literally gives me goosebumps every time, love the lyrics)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yn1WbBaWTdc

Ok and for the last one Chris Cornell fans would probably be upset with this one but I don't care I love it! I'll admit it's one of those songs on the cd where I gave it a 'meh' ranking but now I'm friggin obsessed with it. I crush this song on acoustic
The Curse - Audioslave
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUOWKVvdsGA

Music keeps me from going too far off the deep end. Having a bad day (which is everyday these days it seems) I can play guitar for like an hour and just forget about my problems and actually feel good.

These two are my all-time favorites:

"I'm Alright" by Jo Dee Messina:

"Fear Not This Night" from Guild Wars 2 (composed by Jeremy Soule):

Mmm, I can't really narrow it down, but at least one does hold some significant value. So in no particular order...
Little Talks<3:
Baloney Speaker:
Youth:
ECHO:
Deference for Darkness:
And that's off the top of my head, even after excluding remixes, covers, and the leap of anime stuff... So all in all, I think those 5 narrow it down enough

That's a wonderful choice for yours, Cass. Arcade Fire are one of my favourite bands of all time and the whole Neighborhood quartet is absolutely phenomenal.

For me, it's tough to pick one since there are so many songs I love... but when I think about my favourite bands, one stands out, and when I think about my favourite songs by that band, again one stands out:

#4 Breaking Benjamin - Water

#5 Ed Sheeran - You Need Me (I Don't Need You).

Boom, there you go.

I have a lot of different songs that I like (I'm a classic rock type of person), but if I had to pick just one, the one that comes to the forefront is Dire Straits' "Brothers in Arms" -- the most hauntingly sad and beautiful piece of music I've ever heard.

Always changes, but it is usually these. In no order of course.

1. The Day I Tired To Live- Soundgarden (R.I.P Chris)
2. Big Empty- Stone Temple Pilots (R.I.P Scott)
3. The Crow and the Butterfly- Shinedown
4. How Much A Dollar Cost- Kendrick Lamar
5. Hesitate- Stone Sour
6. Manhattan- Eric Johnson
7. My Father's Eyes- Eric Clapton
8. Dear Mama- 2pac
9. Everyday Struggle- Notorious B.I.G
10. Sea of Sorrow- Alice In Chains
11. Wish You Were Here- Pink Floyd

There. Roughly. And why 11? Well, I'm certainly not trying to ape the Nostalgia Critic! *laughs nervously*

DAMN IT! I forgot one of my favorite songs by them.

Foo Fighters- Wheels

Is it one of their best? No. I include this though because it helped me through dark times.
