This is something that old games like to do. They're programmed to only read up to a certain amount, the assumption being that no-one will have a drive bigger. Now that we do, it just says it's too small.

It should install regardless.

The easiest way to install Battlespire on Windows XP/Vista/7 is to use the alternate install method. Load up DOSBox, mount the directory you want it to be in such as C:\ and then mount the disc.

Move to the disc, and type 'INSTALL /F C' and that will install the game in C:\BATSPIRE.

You aren't using -freesize.

-freesize Tells DOSbox how much space it can make. IE, you can't install a 400MB game when you put int -freesize 300.
