I love how this https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Akatosh "Akatosh isn't a Jealous God" just takes a Bible quote and turns it on its head. Yahweh is jealous. Akatosh is not.

Similar to the Tamrielic legal maxim, "All are guilty until they have proven themselves innocent."

Isn't that a Marukhati thing, though?

It's from Marukh alright, but it's the basis of the Tamrielic legal system.

All monkey related things should be tossed out with the old banana peels.

Also, the Sundering is basically the ES version of Christianity's Fall, but most true humans consider the Sundering a good thing. Saying that the Fall is actually a good thing, like Megami Tensei does, would probably trigger most Abrahamics. Also, that whole thing about the Pharaoh's heart being hard as a bad thing, but Pelinal has a diamond where his heart should be (diamond is the world's hardest material).

You know how the best way to remind yourself why you like a certain thing is to introduce or reintroduce yourself to something that you don't? I just reminded myself of why I consider TES's portrayal of humans so refreshing. In most other fantasy lore, humans and elves are of "the light" and are often united against demons "of the dark". However, stuff, like Heart of the World, Sithis (book), and the song, Folly of Man, show that humans, like the lesser Daedra, are born of Sithis, of chaos. Like how lesser Daedra are born of the Daedric Princes, humans are born of Lorkhan. In many ways, humans and lesser Daedra are practically chaos-bros. Heck, certain lines in Heart of the World, like "hordes [of men]" or men swearing "blood vengeance" for the slaying of Lorkhan practically echo cliche demon descriptions from other fantasy stories.

Sure, I might risk a lesser Daedra seeing me as its lunch, but at least, it's not trying to remove me from existence for tainting its Anu's. Now, there are some old texts, like Daggerfall's The Light and the Dark, but a lot of new texts introduced in Morrowind de facto retcon it. So thank you, TES, for making fantasy humans that I can actually be proud of, and not the cattle and prey of other, lesser fantasy lore that I can only feel revulsion towards.
