Okay, so I'm tinkering around with the Stones of Barenziah Quest Markers mod, trying to move three of the stones to more convenient locations.

I want to move the stones in the College of Winterhold, the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary, and Proudspire so that you don't have to do quests you might not be interested in doing (and in the lattermost case, buy an entire house you may not want) in order to finish No Stone Unturned.

And I can move the stones just fine. The problem is that the objective markers on the map aren't moving with them. I've tried Googling how objective markers work in the Creation Kit, and found everything to be spectacularly unhelpful.

Help?

But, you know where they're going to be...

Well, yes, but if the maker of the original mod gives me permission, I'd like to be able to publish it, and having an accurate objective marker is much better than not having one, in that case. Plus it's just something I want to learn how to fix.

Edit: An oddity! The original mod author followed what he believes to be the same steps I took, and the quest markers moved to the new locations just fine. So now I'm just baffled.

In the actual quest you would look under the Quest Objectives tab to find out where each marker points to. It's possible that some markers point to a marker near the stone instead of the stone itself.

I believe I've accounted for that, as well. There indeed are markers present at each of the stone locations, labeled as if they would be used this way, but they are not actually used at all. The Use Report window says they are not referenced by anything, let alone TGCrown.

Here are some images of my own changes to show what I've done:

Note that the objective targets do point to the activator aliases.

Maybe I should try pointing all of the objective targets to the markers instead...

Edit: Tried that, didn't work.

Yeah, I give up. The author of the original mod tried making the same basic changes I did, and it worked just fine for him, but I have the same problem with precisely the same .esp he made and a clean save, no other mods loaded, after a clean reinstall of the game.

I'm cursed by a wizard. Only possible explanation.

I'm cursed as well. The trick behind it is to go insane...
