I've been trying, and failing, to get Redguard to run on Vista. I've tried the installation on XP method from the wiki, but I haven't got it to work so far. I've got the Sold Out Windows 95/98 version, not the original DOS version. Anyone managed to get this version running on Vista?

I am nearly 100% certain that Vista will have some problems with it, even if it DOES get working.

Have you tried running it in Compatibility mode? That sometimes sorts problems like this out.

I've tried running it in 98/ME compatibility mode for the normal installation and XP for the setup based on the wikis instructions. It does the same thing in both cases; a bunch of errors which I ignore, then it shuts down or something. I feel there should be some way of running it, even if there are in game problems (Oblivion crashes quite frequently, so I'm used to such).

As in, running the game in compat? Rather than the install?

Running the install in compat can sometimes cause MORE problems.

Yes, running the game in compatibility mode; which one depending on the install used.

Hmmmmm...

Try this link. It might require a download, but it should work.

Will DOSBox work? I've already tried the other, and the version of Redguard I have is designed to run under Windows already - although probably using DOS in some sense.

Okay, finally got it working with Glidos not DGVoodoo. Unfortunately, that does mean there's a big spinning logo on the screen unless I buy Glidos.
