Saering's Watch, post dragon death colour changes

Hi all,

this is my first play through of Skyrim, love it so far. ENB + mods make it soooo much better!

I was at Saering's Watch as part of the story line and I had to finish off the Elder Dragon there and something strange happened after death.

After the Dragon died it a) failed to give up a soul, b) the entire screen fades to a Sepiai colour pallet. I thought "oh %!&* i've broken the game again . I walked around a bit and put some distance between me and the Dragon corpse the colour pallet faded back to normal! I go closer and it fades back to Sepia, repeatable!

Is this normal behavior for:
a) no soul being given up for this dragon (i thought it was story line dragon).
b) the fading to Sepia when in close proximity to a dead Elder Dragon.
