As you may be aware, the UESP Wiki has almost 20,000 content articles now. With that milestone approaching, it is a great chance to ask what article ideas you people have. while we certainly have plenty of ideas for new articles, reaching that number and going beyond that can get a bit tricky. So what articles would you like to see on the UESP? I know a lot of you are probably saying that we already cover everything, we hear that a lot. Still, we know that there is a lot more ground we can cover.

Please note that the idea should be Elder Scrolls related, we are an Elder Scrolls fansite after all. Also be aware that your idea might not necessarily be turned into an article, this is more about seeing what people would like to be made than actually making it. I'm also not going to say your article wouldn't be made, if it is a good idea, and it is a subject we do not yet cover.

With that said, please tell us what articles you'd like to see made! This thread will stay open after reaching 20,000 articles, as there will surely still be new things for us to cover.

I know we have roleplaying tips and the like. Do we have any guides to playing certain types of character in the games, maybe? "How to play an effective mage in Morrowind", that kind of thing?

A couple of suggestions:

1 - Elder Scrolls-related Easter Eggs in other (Bethesda) games (such as Fallout 3)

2 - Total Conversion mods (such as Nehrim: At Fate's Edge)

3 - Mods/total conversions for other games that have been inspired by Elder Scrolls (such as the Elder Kings total conversion for Crusader Kings II)

4 - The stuff that inspired the creation of the Elder Scrolls series (Ultima Underworld, Lord of the Rings, etc) - and how it is reflected in the TES lore

(OK, this ended up a bit more than a couple...)

I'd love to see more dialogue pages, or dialogue implemented into quest/character pages. The wiki started doing a great job with Skyrim and has an okay job with Oblivion, but I frequently find myself wanting to review dialogue and not knowing where to go. It's not exactly a new page idea, but it's something I would love.

Developer interviews? Developer timeline? Something to give us a little more insight into what the people creating the games were thinking.

I'd like to see some more info on Skyrim mods. The sections for Oblivion and Morrowind mods are pretty useful, but Skyrim looks a bit bare.

Haha, well, that's definitely not user friendly and takes eons to navigate, particularly if you aren't familiar with it, but a good source of information if you're willing to shift through it. Thanks for pointing that out, CBR!

Oh! And I remember WoWWiki having a list of pop culture references that were in WoW. Maybe we could see something like that?

I dunno about the section on Oblivion mods? Sure, it covers some useful ones, like COBL, and Stirk - but a lot of the other mods listed are long since dead, and quite a few of the more popular ones are left out (such as Lost Spires, Better Cities, Knights of the Nine: Revelations).

Ok, I admit I haven't done any modding of Oblivion and I only glanced at the wiki page. Still, the one for Skyrim has even less info.

Beth have already done them, IIRC the tutorials are linked on the wiki. And there is a references page. Somewhere...

Maybe half the battle is just knowing where to find these "somewhere" pages and having some things more user friendly. The easier things are to find and the easier they are to understand, the more you'll attract potential new readers (and editors!).

It's called the Easter Egg pages, and they are right there. Plain to see. Right on the bottom of every games page. I think that, and I say this respectfully, if more people actually look for the articles they want in question, they would find them quite easily. As in bold type at the bottom of the page in a category all it's own. Not to say that there aren't pages that still need to be made, just that most of what you are looking for, is already there.

Oh, that's something I've been meaning to talk about - some stuff is really hard to find, it feels like this chaotic thing that grew in whichever direction it wanted. Don't have any specifics now, but I've had this problem several times, where I had to click around for a long while before I found what I was looking for. I'll post an example next time I run into something like this.

I don't care as much if the article already exists or not, or if we already provide the info through something like the CSList (which is purposely unfriendly for casual users). Comments here can also serve the double purpose of pointing out certain content is hard to find, or that it should be more of a priority ensuring these articles are made with new games. I am interested in learning both of those things as well, so do not discouage those comments. And if you are going to tell someone something exists already, at least link to it as they have already shown they want to read that article but cannot find it.

What about articles with the latest information on upcoming updates/games? An ES VI page that is updated with new information as it is gathered, maybe even a Rumors page/section. Same for TES:O. DLC suspicions could also be in that section. I know we have a place for discussion of that here on the forums, but there's no place on the wiki that puts forward any information that is not 100% confirmed.

We have a whole namespace for info on ESO. The old rumours page was deleted a while back.

Articles and links on Elder Scrolls related media. Like the YouTube channels Skyrim Cops, 100 Ways to Die, the Lore Series or that Malukah lady.

Maybe a page on the evolution of The Elder Scrolls series. How its ideas have changed and shaped over time. How Lore has evolved over time.

Maybe a page listing widely accepted lore that's not exactly canon or mentioned in-game, or maybe just hinted at.

A page listing lore that's no longer Elder Scrolls canon. Or has most likely been abandoned.

Do we have, like, a list of retconned lore?

Mods/more character quotes and dialogue.
Maybe fan art/photos etc?

As I see it, we need two additions:

Minor Arena Locations. The abominable TES Wiki has these. Why doesn't UESP? These can still have some significance. Like Dunlain Falls, for instance?

We should also have a small article on what is known of Gwylim (or Gwilym) University. It has appeared in enough sources to warrant an article, methinks.

I agree that our Arena coverage is severely lacking. Problem is, no one's interested.

I'll look into the university and see about writing a lore page for it.
