Hello comrades

My name is Renato Barreira. I'm from Brazil, as you may have noticed mostly of brazilians (myself included) are very energetic and enthusiastic about translations to portuguese. And, of course, the fan-made translation of the UESP and TESO have a few controversial topics on our community.

One of these controversial topics that draws most attention is the translation and language localization of places, names etc. I'm personally not against that, there are several masterworks in portuguese that are fully translated and localized, for example, LOTR, GOT, HP etc.
Tho, it's very important to remember that, as a fan-made translation, these very places, names etc. will eventually have a official translation (some of them actually already do as will state below). I believe that is very important for the reader to know what's a oficial Bethesda's translation and what's fan-made/community driven contribution.

For example. Shadowmere is officially translated to Assombroso in the Elder Scrolls Legends. This is a official translation, and then there is Árceu, fan-made translation of Skyrim (http://pt.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Arc%C3%A9u) and Brisavinda, fan-made translation of Morrowind (https://pt.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Brisavinda).
The reader have the right to know what's fan-made and whats official, due to that, I highly recommend putting a tag of fan-made or unofficial translation on topics that haven't been oficially translated yet

Please keep in mind that this topic isn't about the quality of the fan-made or the official translation, I just believe that we need to tell the reader what he/she/it is reading.

Warm regards from Brazil

I'm a Brazilian player too and I think the same. I agree to the request.

I never said anything like that, neither I oppose to the translation at any moment.

Are you stating that reader's shouln'd have access to information about what they are reading? This is wrong in so many levels, readers have the right to know when they are reading official translations and when they are reading fan-made ones.

I hope this is not the mindset of people working on the translation for both UESP and TESO game.

And I am not part of the translating team. And not even UESP is Official, why bother, go on Bethesda forum.

There is a way to voice a disagreement and still be civil about it. Please respect the rules and other users
