Good morning!
I was just looking up some stuff on the uesp-wiki when something came to my mind:
I heard lots of (good and bad) things about ESO and lots of people would say that it isn't really "lore-friendly", but despite of that I see lots of references to ESO in the uesp-wiki lore section.
I just wanted to know what the reasons were to include "ESO-lore".

Maybe this question is strange, but I don't know how I should feel about the whole ESO thing, I'm just a bit confused. :S

Sorry if I upset anyone with my questions.

As someone who came late to the ESO party but who has been playing it daily ever since, I don't find ESO to be "anti-TES-lore" or whatever some people think of it. Most of ESO's lore seems to fit in very well with TES lore, aside from things like the constant addition of exotic mounts that have no appearance in any "later" TES games. Frankly, it seems to me that there is already a good bit of inconsistency in TES lore, especially in the earliest games when all of the lore was still being thought up by the game designers. Some inconsistencies are small and can perhaps not be called "inconsistencies" per se-- perhaps "minor variations"? But my point is that the lore has not been set in stone from "Day 0" (meaning prior to the launch of Arena), but rather has grown and evolved, and continues to do so.

Thank you for your quick reply!
What you are saying makes sense.
I'm just very skeptical about "new things" and "change", sorry for that.

I was very resistant to ESO at first, but not because of anything to do with lore-- strictly because I'd never played a MMORPG before and was totally against the idea of buying a game so I can play it but then having to pay a subscription fee to be able to play it. The only reason I finally broke down and bought ESO-- aside from a desire to add to my collection of TES games-- is because you no longer need a subscription. :D

ESO is definitely lore friendly, especially for TES. Either way, the UESP tries to remain neutral and not discount any official content without clear reason to do so. While there was discussion of splitting ESO into a separate site during release, the vast majority of ESO content at this point is basically single player content. If you like deep delves into the lore, ESO is the best game for it, it touches on topics that no other game has, and more frequently.
