Hello,

I am looking for hints here. Just playing Morrowind for at least the fourth time or so, I have it since it came out, I even have the old disks and the box. Despite that, I purchased the GOTY at GOG games, just to have it handy with no CD check. I have it modded, mainly for graphics, use MGE XE and the MCP, and so on.

What I mean to say - I am not a newbie :)

I also just created my account - a friendly HELLO to the community :)

In this play through I try to avoid too much WIKI usage. So - for example - I have the Temple quest for the Hair Shirt, but since nobody could tell me the location of 'Lost Koguruhn' (yet) I will not go there, despite knowing where it is, obviously.

So what I try in this game is to use as much as possible in game information, because this was the last game where Bethesda did give a lot of information while playing the game, and not with 'quest markers'...

My question:
If I am looking for Leles Birian, the master trainer for Destruction, how to find her? (Yes, I know where she is, even without looking a the UESP map). I know, that sometimes NPCs tell you such things. I tried to ask about 'Destruction', but did not find the topic, not even with other Destruction trainers.

I already know quite a few higher trainers, and a few master trainers as well. But the master trainer for Enchant or the master trainer for Destruction, and others I never received any hint in the game. Is this purely random? Asking Scouts or Savants is not the right way, AFAIK.

Any hints?

Thank you :)

Welcome to the madhouse, you mad member, you!

Unfortunately, I don't use the in-game trainers as a general rule-- although I did use them a bit during one playthrough-- so I have no idea about the answer to your question. But I applaud your decision to rely exclusively on information that you get from the NPCs. :)

No book or NPC will tell you about Leles Birian. Most master trainers in Morrowind are intended to be gameplay secrets which you come across either by chance or via word of mouth. If you don't want to use the wiki, you might consider referring to the Prima guide for this info? A PDF was included with your GOG purchase.

Thank you :)

I have both and I use UESP Wiki. And I can remember where she is, that is me, the player. My character does not know it, which is the point. I asked around, but the topic 'Destruction' does not come up. I receive obviously random 'little secrets' from NPCs, which point the way to a person somewhere in connection with a skill. This is - as far as I remember - the way I learned about this trainer first. And other trainers.

The point is, I want to learn it in the game. I could make a levitating beeline to her, if I wanted - but the character does not know it.

So this is the core of my question - I am sure there are in game ways to learn this information. I just wanted hints, who to ask. But in time my character will learn it.

PS: I remember fondly my first play through with the new game: No Wiki or anything else existed at the time, not for months. I was truly lost sometimes - and it was a real fun playing. And finding out, what it was all about, the Lore and the background. Nowadays they serve the often poor and sketchy remains of 'Lore' and 'Background' on a platter - if Todd Howard does not explain and hype it all before release anyway...

Thank you :)

I mentioned in my first post Lost Koguruhn (for the Hair Shirt Temple quest). I was able to find it in game, by asking a scout who had the topic 'lost Koguruhn' and explained:

'... we think it was between Falasmaryon and the northern border of the Ghostfence somewhere. I will mark Falasmaryon on your map...'

This description is fine - I could find it without problems. This is what I am looking for...

Strange hobbies, I know :S

As I said, there is not. No one will mention this trainer to you.
