Problem with applying the shivering isles

I do as I'm told in the installation manual that comes with the shivering isles dvd. The installation finishes, I remove the disc and start Oblivion.
I rest for 24h+ and hope for the message to appear telling me about the isle I should check out.

NO MESSAGE NO ISLE.

I hope you understand my problem. I am thankful for every attempt to get rid of it.

Sometimes the message just doesn't appear. 'Tis a glitch. If the island isn't in Niben Bay either, I don't know what to tell you.

When you start Oblivion, hit the "Data Files" button and make sure there's a check mark next to the Shivering Isles plugin. If the checkmark isn't there, the game won't load up it's content.

Shivering isles is on the data files list alright. Either its that I can't find the isle OR its just really badly bugged for me. Is there a picture somewhere with the isles exact location? Could be what I need

you have to wait an in-game day for the message to pop-up; apart from that I don't know what to tell you.

just keep searching the bay if the msg wont pop up.. i recommend using water walking spell or item enchantment

or maybe uninstall shivering, and re-install it?

I have also reinstalled shivering isles once.

Do you have the newest patch installed? The Shivering Isles won't work without it.

Hmm I guess thats it then. I dont remember when I last downloaded the newest patch.. Ill try that and let you know

thx ps. should I uninstall shivering isles before adding the patch? might sound like a stupid question but im no oblivion god (yet).

I think the order of installation doesn't matter. However, it would surprise me, if the patch wasn't on the Shivering Isles disc already. But just try downloading and installing the newest patch. There's one for the Shivering Isles, too - which you should install. Otherwise you'll have a serious bug.

Yeah, I think I gotta reinstall it all. I applied the new oblivion patch which had an error but still said it installed properly. After that I did the shivering isles patch which didn't install properly and therefore made no change. Anyway, no isle. Im going to reinstall my oblivion, then I'll add the patch, after that I'll install shivering and then the patch. If it dont work after that I'm speechless.
