Some Daggerfall user interface issues seem obvious in retrospect, but I played for days before I figured them out. For the benefit of others here are a couple.

1) For the bow to recognize arrows that are in your inventory they must be "equipped." They can only be equipped coming from someplace else -- not the inventory list --for example, your wagon, a dead enemy or a pile on the ground. My usual practice is to "remove" them to the wagon and then "equip" them back into my inventory.

2) When you receive a "message," it shows up as just a parchment in your inventory. The message can be read by selecting it with the "Use" button.

3) In spell-making, the numbers in the formula are shifted up and down by clicking on the bars immediately above and below the numbers.

4) When levitating or swimming. use "page up" and "page down" to rise and descend.
