I think most people hit that stage! What in particular is going wrong?

I know this may be a stupid question but....

Are there any mods that let you actually sell your houses? Like the ones you get ingame and ones added by mods? I think that would be neat.

Could someone suggest a mod that makes the game feel...less old in terms of control and interface. And also some better looking people.

My laptop is seven years old and very under powered.

After reading through this thread, some great mods have been suggested but there's still a lot more that can be pointed out. I've come across a lot of great mods as a result of research for Morrowind Modding Showcases, and I've categorized a few below. I've tried to include only those mods that were not mentioned prior in this thread.

Dungeons
Face of the Hortator

Gameplay
Water Life
Smart Crosshairs

Houses
Shipwreck Home
Dark Castle
Racc's Chitin House
Abandoned Dwemer Observatory
Pearl Palace
Faction Living Quarters
Dwemer Galleon
Ascadian Ship Home
Arvs-Spelun
Balmora Lighthouse

Items
Morrowind Trading Cards
Magical Trinkets of Tamriel + Patch
Provincial Bath Shoppe
Enhanced Economics

NPCs
The Hostiles (Type: Leveled Lists)
Morte! (Type: Companions)
Staff Agency (Type: Hired Companions)

Quests
Illuminated Order (Type: Factions)
Inseparable Siblings (Type: Small Quests)
Mournhold Clockmaker (Type: Small Quests)
Morrowind Inhabitants: Freeform! (Type: Random Quests)
Suran Underworld (Type: Factions)
Lothavor's Legacy (Type: Large Quests)
Daedric Sorcery (Type: Large Quests)
Muck Shovel of Vivec (Type: Small Quests)
The Sable Dragon (Type: Large Quests)
The Trouble with Milie (Type: Large Quests)
A Strange Plant (Type: Short Quests)
Magical Missions (Type: Mages Guild Expansion)
The Merchant Fendus (Type: Short Quests)
Arcane Archers (Type: Factions)
Hlaalu Business (Type: Hlaalu Expansion)

Towns
Vivec Expansion (Type: Quests and Buildings)

This is just a handful of the mods I'd recommend, there's a ton more I'll probably be posting later. Until then, you can find my own mods (shameless self-promotion) linked in my signature, as well as more mod recommendations via MMS.

@Darkelfguy Are any of those mods you mentioned compatible with NoM? I want to try some of them as long as they're compatible with NoM.

Most of them should be compatible by default, since most of those mods don't really affect food or drinks. From what I remember playing NoM, it primarily adds hunger, thirst, and sleep fatigue yes? Most of those mods shouldn't conflict then.

The only major issue is Vivec Expansion, which has a physical conflict with the Ascadian Isles restaurant placed by NoM outside of Ebonheart. A few of the house mods have NoM-supported versions, such as Pearl Palace and Ascadian Ship Home, that add NoM features. Enhanced Economics might have a NoM version, I know it adds new drinks to the game. In any event, I would recommend using Wrye Mash's merged leveled lists with Enhanced Economics, The Hostiles and Magical Trinkets of Tamriel, since they add things to leveled list which could, if merged leveled lists isn't used, lead to a conflict with NoM (here's a tutorial on merged leveled lists if you need it). Lothavor's Legacy might cause some issues, because it confines you to an island for an extended period of time with limited food sources nearby, but it doesn't have a direct conflict that I know of.

Come to think of it, Pluto's "The Sable Dragon" might also have a NoM specific version. But anyway, the vast majority of those mods won't conflict with NoM, at least not in any way I can see.

I have another batch of mods to recommend, this time mostly business-related. If you've ever wanted to run your own financial empire, many of these mods can help you out!

Farms:
The Farmer Mod By Josh - Own and build up three different plantations, hiring staff and planting different crops

Mines:
Erengard Mines By Graphite - Own a diamond mining operation, managing employees, keeping spirits up, and collecting weekly profits.

Building Up Uvirith's Legacy By Acheron & Artimis Fowl - This is a town expansion mod for the Telvanni Stronghold, but also includes a mine operation you can get weekly profits from.

Shops:
PC Clothier By Aimeekae - Own a clothing shop in Balmora and hire an assistant tailor to make clothes for you to sell.
PC Clothier Patch

PC Smithy By Aimeekae - Own a smithy shop in Ebonheart, and hire assistants and a professional smith to make armor and weapons for you to sell to dynamically appearing customers.

Taverns/Inns:
Wayfarer's Rest By Baratheon79 - Build your own tavern, collect weekly profits, and hire guards.
The Racer Roost By Baratheon79 - Travel to Hla Oad and buy your own shack tavern, collecting profits every week.
The Augur Moose By DonnerGott - Buy out a ship tavern and collect weekly profits.

There's of course more business mods out there, but I'll have to track them down first.

I was using both the PC Clothier and PC Smithy mods and I kept getting CTD and errors from Morrowind about races or something. Might just be the load order.

I'll try more in the next few days.

I think there might be something buggy about PC Smithy in particular. I noticed the other day that a CTD would occur if the smith ever got a skill increase up to 150, and since it's supposed to stop at 100, that sounds a bit like a bug in the scripting. Don't know about any race errors though.

I tried messing around with my load order a little last night and I still got an CTD after about 20 minutes.

I might make a new topic about it with my load order. Maybe we can figure it out.

Might also be just too many mods installed. I have 53 and that may me too much for that old computer to handle.

If I get that error again about the race, I'll take a pic of it to show you, if I don't forget.

Anyway, enough rambling for me. :)

Edit: I disabled PC Smithy and got no more CTD's. Most of those CTD's came when I was wondering in and around Ebonheart. Which is where the Smithy resides.

My personal favorites

Houses:
Yorick's Tower (great if you want to place all books, bottles and plates yourself)
Wolf Manor (comes with servants that you can drag around and dress as you like)
Private Mobile Base (very expensive but really cool flying house)
Cragonmoor (it's beautiful)
Mormegil Manor (many mannequins and storage space)

Armors and clothes:
Fliggerty Armor Project (So many armor sets...)
Kat's Castle (Tons of female clothing)
Slof's Goth Shop (Tons of male clothing)
Mall of Insanity (Crazy but cool)
Gothic Attire (Again tons of female clothing and armors)
Metal Queen Boutique (Female armors)
Clothiers of Vvardenfell
Fine Clothiers of Tamriel
Alakazar's Lamp (Nice house, too!)
Ultimate Knight Shop

Weapons:
Better Weapon Suite (Most unique weapons now look unique, too!)
Beautiful Collection
Heaven's lookout (Nice armors there, too)

New Locations and Quests:
Tamriel Rebuilt (My true love)
Silgrad Tower (Another true love, I guess)
Ald-Vendras (Better than I thought)
Emba-5 (copy of a real town in Kazakhstan)
Deus Ex Machina (A bit weird but still great)
For Name Cliff Racer (Very Sci-Fi)
Travel in Ashlands (Sequel to Cliff Racer)
Stargate (Cool, but may be buggy)
Sotha Sil Expanded (Much better than its original counterpart from Tribunal)
The Black Mill (Don't forget the Nighteye and Light spells and potions, you are warned)
The Zone (so dieselpunk, very Mist-like, much wow).

Julan! Follower mod with an amazing storyline. It adds (more) depth to the main quest, also makes those first few information gathering quests for Caius more interesting.

I also use Fair Magicka Regen. It's slow enough it doesn't feel OP, but makes mage characters a lot less painful to play.

I like using Sabregirl’s mods, like the Pharlan race mods and quest line. My new favorite character is Dahlia, my Gadan Pharlan. (Apologies to my almost forgotten Argonian, Apache.)
