Better Vivec

I would just like to say that I like my Gods to look amazing, and this does the part for Vivec. The Concept Head/Particle is amaazzinngg.

Yay for being mentioned! :P

Anyway here's what yours truly recommends:

1. Better Heads (repalces the crappy looking heads)
2. Better bodies (No more 5 piece bodies!)
3. Book Rotate (Essential for Lore addicts like me that want books that stand up)
4. Bottle Rotate (Erm same as above, for alcoholics)
5. Animal Behaviour (Stops those suicidal rats and fish from attacking you unless mad with disease)
6. House of Mannequins (For displaying your collection of armours and the like)
7. Book Jackets (Much better then better books. Makes them look really pretty!)
8. Improved No-glow (Magical items don't look like someone went mad with glitter anymore)
9. Better Clothes (makes everything fit in with the graphics mods)
10. Darknut's weapon/armour/creature textures(look the same as the original just higher resolution, the detail is improved)
11. Better Beasts (Better bodies for beast races!)

All that and weapon rotate, for the base game.

Some suggestions:
Leveled Magicka - Mages have been put down in Morrowind, this way your maximum amount of magicka increases with each level.

Tamriel Rebuilt - Rebuilds the Main land, and is being done in parts http://tamriel-rebuilt.org/, adds an insane amount to the game if you have played it for ten years like I have.

The Lighting Mod - takes away the light that seems to come from no-where. Adds dark dungeons and actual night making night eye finally useful and adds to the overall atmosphere of the game. It comes in multiple parts so you can pick and choose what you want done.

All boat/Silt Strider ports - gets rid of the annoying boat hopping. Small tweaks make the game great.

Do It Yourself Journal - If your into role playing this is the mod for you. Erases all journal entries and you have to manually type in content.

Give Your Orders and Dracandros' Voice - Allow you to talk to people and ask their level and health, along with making any npc follow you and become a companion, if they like you enough.

to name a few.

I realise I only have Morrowind & Tribunal, no Bloodmoon :( Are there any graphics and/or sound modpacks for this?

You can add music regardless of what expansion packs you have. With textures, it too shouldn't matter, as long as there are no esp plug-in files to be activated. Textures just sit there to be used (or not used) with whatever your game is doing.

I suggest this graphics pack: http://elderscrolls.filefront.com/file/ ... ined;56241

This has probably been asked before, but are there any mods that make Morrowind harder? Don't get me wrong, I still love this game for the atmosphere, the storytelling, and the vast roleplaying opportunities it provides. I'm just looking for a good challenge, one that allows me to use all resources at my disposal without feeling like I've broken the game. It just isn't much fun when enemies die in one hit without ever scratching you. I'm a fan of survival horror games, and I like the tension and suspense of having to avoid threats, hoard resources, and pick fights very carefully.

So is there anything like this? I'm relatively new to the forums, and I only have the MCP and MPP as far as mods go.

Forces of Oblivion: http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/V ... il&id=9054
This mod enables you to keep on fighting stronger foes until level 50.

Main Quest Enhancer: http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/V ... il&id=9407
Corprus beasts and 6th House servants outside of the Ghostfence, as you progress in the MQ.

Morrowind Comes Alive (MCA) adds extra enemies to dungeons, caves and ruins, and some of those are quite tough.
Latest version: http://morrowind.nexusmods.com/mods/6006
The version I use (may have more difficult encounters): http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/V ... il&id=5047

Thanks. I hope they're all compatible. Going to start a new game pronto. :)

Edit: Okay, I messed up already. I didn't realize that MCA 5.2 was just a fix to MCA 5.1, and that 5.1 was required. I kept getting texture load error messages. Going to download and install that one now.

Don't know, but this might give you something to chew: http://www.gameskyrim.com/looking-for-h ... 45996.html --- it is for Morrowind.

Thanks, although I was kind of hoping to not have to juggle a ton of mods at once. The ones I just installed already gave me enough trouble, with the files going into the wrong folders, or the documentation not being clear. Also, downloading each mod from a different site one at a time was a hassle. I suppose I can wait until the hardcore mods are all combined into a single comprehensive package, like the Tactics mod for Baldur's Gate II.

Kirel's Interior Weather is an absolute must-have for me. I won't do alchemy or read a book unless I'm inside during a thunderstorm. Makes me feel so cozy.

Quest of the Week is another one of my favorites that I rarely see discussed. Right now they're up to 59 quests IIRC, and the project is still ongoing.

my laptop is 7 years old by know and can't handle the overhauls and such.
due to that focused in game mechanics making little processor intensive now and then but really gives better feel to game playing and couldn't play without.
magic at right mouse, attack on left and magic choosing on the middle + blocking on the Q.

not specifically mods but need for the scripts:
MWE
MGE 3.8.2-SVN_rev-178 (stable at XP)
MWSE MGE internal
AutoMW for auto-quicksaving
(if your comp can handle also autotrance for combat)
patch 1.6.5
code patch

tes tool and wrye mash

tweaking the world:
clean ultimate morrowind anti-mod
poorly placed object fix 1.2
texture fix 2.0
water level fix

MCA 7.0 and westly's master headpack
changing faces replacer

sounds:
atmospheric sound effects
bitter coast sounds (bcsounds)
kirel interior weather really makes a difference :D
ambient town sounds
magic sounds (file name)
bones (skeleton sound)

Lights:
illuminated windows
lights 300 by byblos
(includes true light and darkness and light based sneaking)

game mechanics:
rectifies fines (no guard stealing your stolen goods)
pursuit enhanced
RKCriminals (regional crimes)
universal companion share
improved cursed items
improved inns
galsiahs character development
Herbalism lite for tamriel rebuilt mainland
weaponfix
alchemist arsenal
alchemy storage helper (really useful thought little cheat)
animal realism
antares big mod
blocking enchanted
combat enchanted
CM minor quests
Combat Experience Depth Perception
Delayed DB Attack
disturb the dead
faster travel by aragorn
healers by raejak
keyring
potion upgrade by schwaa
mel teleport plugin
persuasion response expansion
realstars
Less Generic NPC mods
Living Cities of Vandervall
Lore fix
morrowind advanced
Magicka Based Spell Advancement
leveled magicka

aduls advanced combat
- base
horatio economy adjuster
- adjusted merchant kills
wakims game improvements
- gameplay faction and dialogue
- balance game settings, magic effects and NPC
spellcasting
BTB game impromevent
- alchemy and equipment
- versions of better clothes and morrowind advanced
thief experience overhaul
- trap settings, open spell balance and lockpicking

and then the AI which haven't yet worked for me:
horatio enchanted NPC
and npce_mwse which do the same stuff

little more stuff:
abot waterlife and where are the birds going
better heads and bodies
clothiers of vvanderfell
better clothes
pegas horse ranch
creature ingredient expansion I
The undead
tombs expanded
wizard hats
tamriel rebuilt maps 1,2,3 (mainland)
fliff racer nest eggs
adventurers NPC
living training
Traveling merchants
complete morrowind
beast of vvardenfell
Intelligentsia's Marksman Mod

those mods i like :D
magic and distance oriented but here also combat for dummies if you want manual for combat enhanced combos

then there is combat redefined which makes the feel more like skyrim

animation compilation 021 is really worthwhile
(options for first and third person, dirnae's and
almalexia)

sorry for long post but load order is crucial if those all are going to work and otherwise too for good game.
basically have noticed first game mechanics at least and placing the adjusting stuff then and the stuff itself last seems to work

I see no real need for that apology. Quite the contrary, you did achieve quite a bit. Salute, m8. :D

Edit: As of late, I've been trying to figure out how to get the MGSO and Morrowind Rebirth mods to work together, with limited success. Whenever loading a new area, there's a chance I'll get a string of error messages saying that certain textures are missing. I really don't want to be forced to choose between these two mods, as I like them both. Any advice for how to resolve the error messages? They're getting quite annoying.

I like to stay simple and lore friendly.

I have:
Morrowind Code Patch
Homes to Let
All of the Official addons
a few others I cant remember

Question, does the Morrowind Comes Alive mod work well? are their any problems anyone notices? I feel I should try it to make things less static and more new feeling. Also, can I install it and play a current game or would I have to start over?

You should be able to install MCA on an existing save, although you may need to use a levelled list merging tool if any of the mods you are using with that save edit Morrowind's levelled lists (if you post a full list of the mods you are using, it shouldn't be too difficult to cross-check them).

MCA has been released in a number of different forms (the latest being 7.0 as far as I'm aware), and my limited experience with it was the 5.2 release (as far as memory serves). That worked well enough for me, although some users have reported issues with it. It's always worth keeping a back-up save copy whenever you try installing new mods, but MCA shouldn't be too much of a risk to try out.

This is the absolute complete list, although your mod list won't look quite so lengthy. Some of the mods are options that are mutually exclusive, and many of the items listed here are combined into single .esp files.

Hidden:
Architecture
  • Aeven's Dwemeri Dominion
  • Aeven's The Clockwork City
  • AnOldFriend's Hlaalu Textures
  • AnOldFriend's Imperial Housing
  • AnOldFriend's Shacks & Docks Retextured
  • AnOldFriend's Vivec-Velothi Retextured
  • Biont's Vivec Bump Maps
  • Carnajo's Vivec Texture Replacer (no longer included since v2.0)
  • Colt17's Windows Glow - Bloodmoon
  • Colt17's Windows Glow - Morrowind
  • Colt17's Windows Glow - Tribunal
  • Dark Angel's Illuminated Windows (no longer included since v2.0)
  • Darknut's Dwemer Ruins Textures
  • Dragon32's Fixed Tavern Mesh for Windows Glow
  • Gemini's Windows Glow Realistic Retexture - Imperial
  • Kid77's Ebonheart Fix (no longer included since v2.0)
  • Kieve's Telvanni Shrooms
  • Plangkye's Telvanni Exterior UV Fix
  • Saint_Jiub's Lore Friendly Ghostfence Textures

Goodness. Morrowind 3.0 makes me chug a bit, so I really had to dial back the settings. However, I still get a bit of mouse lag every now and then and sometimes Balmora will become a slideshow. :(

I was wondering what mods I could use myself, use less mods, and perhaps the game will run better. For example, the mods I want would be the better textures across the whole game world, better clothes, the better character models, the sounds that let you hear the rain indoors, the clinking of armor as you walk by a guard, etc.

Ditching the Morrowind Graphics Extender would be my first step for performance improvement. That shouldn't impact on any of the features you mention, certainly not sounds or textures, and should also greatly reduce the strain on your system. Some of the tree and other flora mods might also be worth testing without to see if that helps the performance. Some of them can be quite labour-intensive on your machine, due to the very large amount of detail they require be rendered. Things like Better Bodies, etc. shouldn't strain your PC too much, and should be safe options even if you are performance concious.

Thank you!

I did what you said, and also removed the fancy tress, and now I'm getting 30 FPS everywhere, good enough for me, but Balmora still makes me chug a bit. Any other suggestions?

I like the mods that add completeness to the game.
I am testing out MGSO v3 right now, but in the past I've been using:

abot Guars - Lets you ride Guars!
Leveled Magica - Lets your Mana increase slightly per level
Morrowind Comes Alive v7 - Adds lots of NPCs including bandits that attack you, and people that will help like the guy in Mournhold.
Starfire's NPC Additions - More NPC's running around
Children of Morrowind - Children NPC's running around
Antares Big Mod - Adds promoting, teaching, giving jobs to other faction members.
Morrowind Code Patch - Fixes bugs and improves functionality by modding the EXE
Morrowind Patch Project - Fixes more bugs through normal modding

I wish I could find another mod that added a lot of animals to the game, but I don't know how to merge such mods as MCA adds a ton of undead varieties already.

I assume everyone here doesn't like lore breaking standalone quest lines? because I don't see wizards island or the Underground 1 or 2 here, they are in the hall of fame on planet elder scrolls, if you want a new challenge check them out, the underground is NSFW though (vampires and nudity) but wizards island is pretty clean for everyone to play I think (just takes a lot to install correctly)

I will compile a list of my favorite non lore breaking mods soon. :)
