So I've been playing Morrowind GOTY on Xbox for many years, and I bought a copy of Morrowind GOTY for my Windows 7 PC to try playing with mods to enhance the game a bit (I'm only interested in new content not really new graphics or what have you).
I'm not really tech savvy, I can install a game and that's it, so I don't know where to start, I tried reading the mod section on UESP but I just got confused right away, so what I'm asking is if anyone can just walk me through the basics of installing/using a mod, I know it's a bit noobish but thanks to anyone who can help.

Have you checked this thread and watched the video in the first post? Pretty informative!

The official mods also come with basic readme installation instructions. Might be a good place to start since you probably want them anyway.

Warning! Simplified explanation!!! Please, do your best to understand the wiki pages, and Wrye Mash as well.

First, locate your MW installation folder (that is, the location of Morrowind.exe): there is a subfolder called "Data Files". Then read the mod readme! It normally tells you what to do ;)

A mod is usually a compressed archive with one or more of the following:
  1. .esm or .esp file: this goes in the Data Files folder, then from the game launch menu you must select "Data Files" and double click those you want to activate;
  2. .bsa file: this goes in the Data Files folder, but you must edit the Morrowind.ini file: open it with notepad, then locate [Archives] and add an entry in the format
    Code:
    Archive #=mod.bsa
    where mod.bsa is the name of your .bsa file # is a progressive number (you already have at least 2: Tribunal.bsa and Bloodmoon.bsa, so follow that structure);
  3. folders with mesh/textures: these go in the "Data Files/Textures" or "Data Files/Meshes folder": .dds are textures, .nif are meshes;
      if the folder name is "Textures" or "Meshes", just copy it to data files, and it will merge with the existing one;
      otherwise, check the readme to see if you shall put the files in the mesh/textures folder or in a subfolder.
