Orsinium Display Tamriel Map Display Item Map
Orsinium literally means Orc-Town in early Elvish and is the home to the various types of goblins (Orcs, Ogres, Gremlins, etc...). The inhabitants indeed favour their Elvish name as it suggests a beautiful city instead of the flith-ridden village and keep that it is. It was founded during the Camoran Dynasty when hundreds of the beastfolk were released by the rules of the Summerset Isles and allowed to settle in the lands north of Valenwood. Those Orcish tribes choose an uninhabited mountain region near the Old Hrol'dan in High Rock as their people were dependant on a rare, shaggy, giant centipede herdbeast that can only survive at high altitudes. The area did possess considerabe strength during the First Era when Orcish refugees arrived, fleeing the Ra Gada invasion of Hammerfell. The beastman army attempted to take control of the Bjoulsae River, forcing the kingdom of Wayrest to pay for its use. The powers of the area, namely the Yokudan Order of Diagna and the chieftans of Daggerfall, rose to confront Orsinium. The war lasted thirty years and resulted in its ruin in 1E 980. Orsinium briefly became an Imperial territory under the Akaviri Potentate which ended with the death of Savirien-Chorak in 2E 431.
