Shift gate[edit]

I got to the blue shift gate but then the game went back to the black command line screen thing. It says "Arena V1.06 complete" and I can type things into it. Is this the game crashing, like it says it will in the notes section, or is this the game asking for the cost of a spell. Thanks. RIM 18:53, 4 February 2012 (UTC)

Never mind, I got out of the dungeon. RIM 10:26, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

How[edit]

How did you get fix it? — Unsigned comment by 76.5.194.59 (talk) at 09:51 on 12 July 2012

Could you please be more specific? Kitkat TalkContribE-mail 10:02, 12 July 2012 (UTC)

Crouching[edit]

This might seem silly, but I just picked up the game because I wanted to experience pre-Morrowind Elder Scrolls. I can't seem to get past the very beginning of the game. As soon as I turn south, a rat attacks me, but I can't seem to see it, let alone attack it. I assume I have to crouch in order to see, and attack, it. So, how do I crouch? --SlatzG (talk) 18:58, 5 May 2014 (GMT)

Same hidden entrance as Oblivion[edit]

Could this be considered to be the same "hidden" exit as the one in Oblivion? Or is this an alternate not seen in Oblivion (perhaps a devolpment oversight?)? --Resonance Gamer (talk) 06:15, 9 June 2014 (GMT)

Broken Link[edit]

The link to the online manual for Arena (under Notes) leads to a notice that the domain name is for sale. Is there another source for the manual? Thank you. bastwren 97.113.199.200 16:49, 5 November 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for noticing. I've changed the link to point toward UESP's copy. Shmoot (talk) 18:36, 5 November 2018 (UTC)

Bug addition - 1st of Morning Star 12:00 midnight[edit]

I was able to determine the action that causes the variation in start dates from 1st of Morning Star to 1st of Hearthfire. Creating a character when the game is first started will always start the character on the 1st of Hearthfire. If, however, you use "NEW GAME" from the options menu after starting or loading a previous character, then the new character will always start on the 1st of Morning Star. The patch notes for ver 1.05 state; "New characters created from within the game will work". Testing shows that ver 1.03 and 1.04 do not have this issue. It appears that a change in the sub-routines for "NEW GAME" introduced the bug beginning with 1.05 and continuing to 1.06 and 1.07. --Satribe (talk) 15:17, 13 November 2020 (UTC)

About the title[edit]

Does the name "Escape From Prison" come from the game or any official materials? It's not in the manual or the codex and Arena doesn't name quests in the journal. If not, it ought to be moved to Arena:Imperial Dungeons to match the other main quest pages. Boustrophedon (talk) 19:32, 1 July 2022 (UTC)

I still can't find any official use of "Escape From Prison" so I'm going to move it now. The dungeon is called "Imperial Dungeons" in-game and in the Codex, and all the other main quest pages are named for their main dungeon, not for your task. Boustrophedon (talk) 18:35, 15 March 2024 (UTC)
