While exploring the wilderness, you may come across Kjolver's Dwelling, just between Brodir Grove and the Cave of Hidden Music. Inside lives a woman called Kjolver, who has had enough of her husband Brandr's infidelity and is willing to take drastic measures. She wants her husband's mistress, Erna the Quiet, killed. If you accept Kjolver's offer to kill her, she'll ask you to bring Erna's ring back as proof of her death. Kjolver also tells you that Erna can probably be found in her house in the Skaal Village.

[edit] The Lovers

Go to her house to find out that she isn't home, but there's a note for her lover, Brandr, indicating she was taking a walk down by the river. She can be found on the Isild River, north of Lake Fjalding, near Graring's House. Unfortunately, Brandr has already seen the note and is with Erna on the river, so be careful when killing her, as he may interfere and you'll have to kill him as well.

[edit] Return with the Proof

Once you have taken care of Erna (and probably Brandr as well), go back to Kjolver with the ring to receive your 1000 gold reward. Killing Brandr will not prevent you from completing the quest, as Kjolver, oblivious to the facts, quietly awaits his return.

10	A woman named Kjolver wants me to kill her husband's mistress, Erna the Quiet. Apparently, Kjolver has had enough of her husband's infidelity and is willing to take drastic measures.
20	I refused Kjolver's request that I murder her husband's mistress, Erna the Quiet. I don't want a stranger's blood on my hands.
30	I've accepted Kjolver's offer to kill her husband's mistress, Erna the Quiet. Erna has a house in the Skaal Village, and I can probably find her there. Once the deed is done, I'm to bring Erna's ring back to Kjolver as proof and collect my payment.
40	Erna the Quiet wasn't at her house, but I found a note indicating she was taking a walk down by the river. The note was left for Brandr. I can only hope he hasn't already seen it. Eliminating Erna will be much easier without her lover's interference....
45	Brandr is dead. I was supposed to kill Erna the Quiet, but Brandr got in the way, so I had no choice but to dispatch him. I'd best not tell Kjolver about this.
50	Erna the Quiet is dead. I've fulfilled my part of the bargain with Kjolver. All that's left is to return Erna's ring to Kjolver as proof of the deed, and collect my payment.
100	Erna's ring has been delivered to Kjolver as proof of the execution, and I've been well compensated for my efforts.
