[edit] Quick Walkthrough

  1. Talk to a Merchant or an Innkeeper.
  2. Head to the town your employer points you to.
  3. Find the cousin and talk to him/her.
  4. Head to the town the cousin points you to.
  5. Find the healer there and buy a talisman.
  6. Head back to the cousin and give him/her the talisman.
  7. Collect your reward.
  8. Alternatively you can ask for rumors after accepting the quest. Ask until you hear something about the whereabouts of a healer, who might cure the cousin. Travel to him/her and get the talisman. In that way you can avoid catching the disease in the first place.
  9. Be sure to follow the time limit.

This quest is one of many others you can randomly get from the pool of Merchants/Innkeepers Quests.

Merchant/Innkeeper:

Excuse me, are you a doctor or have any healing abilities? I really need someone that can heal my cousin.

or

My cousin is dying! Can you help me?

Merchant/Innkeeper goes on:

Thank you, thank you! My name is (questgiver's name). I recently received word that my cousin (cousin's name) of (town) is deathly ill and will probably die in (time limit) days! Whatever you can do to cure (him/her) will be greatly appreciated. Here is (random gold) gold. I will pay you 20 gold more if you can heal (him/her).

Upon accepting the quest your employer will give you a small advance payment. Travel to the town he mentioned to you and ask around in town until someone points you to the cousin's residence. Enter the house and talk to him/her. He/She will tell you of a healer in another, town who might have a cure for his/her disease. After you talked to the cousin he/she has passed on the disease Wizard Bane to you. So it would be a good choice to get yourself cured, before you go on with the quest. Either a visit at a local temple, a spell or a potion will be sufficent. Travel to the town the cousin mentioned to you and find the healer, an alchemist, by asking around. He/She will sell you a talisman for 20 gold, that will heal the cousin. You could also use this talisman to cure your own disease, but since it can be used only once, it will disappear after use.

Travel back to the cousin and give him/her the talisman. He/She will thank you for saving his/her live and will reward you with 20 gold, the cost of he talisman.

Upon giving the cousin the talisman he/she says:

Oh, you've brought me the healing Talisman! Thank you, (player's name). Here is the rest of the gold that my cousin promised you. I really can't thank you enough. I hope the rest of your travels are safe for you.
