Ruler[edit]

Following Athf's suggestion to test it in-game, I discovered the ruler was named... Gilpta. It would be prudent to give others the benefit of the doubt. If my word on this is not enough, I can produce a screenshot. - KINMUNETALK﴿ 12:00, 6 November 2016 (UTC)

The name of any NPC found in a building, or in a dungeon housing static NPCs, is randomly created by the game-engine. The building's position on the outline of the city/town and some other parameters, that I do not know in detail, are used to create these random names. However since the layout of a city/town is the same for everyone at anytime and never changes, the game always comes up with the same "random names". But these are random names nonetheless. The other rulers names are hard-coded in the game, and most important they are confirmed by the game's lore. And therefore I propose to keep the unknown rulers for every region which has not a ruler confirmed by the game's lore. So in case nobody comes up with a rational counter-argument, I will revert the changes done to the rulers in a few days.--PLRDLF (talk) 23:44, 6 November 2016 (UTC)
The purpose of the wiki is to document all of the information. Since the ruler's name will always be the same, this is information should be documented. In addition, the purpose of the wiki is also to present the information to users. It would be doing a disservice to and confusing for users if the rulers were to be presented as not consistent, when in fact, they are not. I did read your reply, PLRDLF, and can see why they're technically classified as random. However, the results are preordained by their location, thus making the number of possible outcomes one. One possible outcome is essentially the same as being non-randomized. - KINMUNETALK﴿ 03:30, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
