Float is bugged[edit]

When I activate the "Float up" or "Float down" thingy, nothing happens. The camera changes to 3rd person view, and stays like that for 3 seconds or something, and then it changes back, and I can move around again. Nothing else happens. Dafuq? Jyggorath (talk) 22:20, 6 February 2013 (GMT)

This happens if your follower is using the float thingy already. You just have to wait. Darictalk 22:22, 6 February 2013 (GMT)
But I didn't have any followers at the time, I'm quite certain. Jyggorath (talk) 14:36, 7 February 2013 (GMT)
The people who live there also regularly use the float thingy. More than likely, one had JUST used it right before you tried. Causes the same thing to happen. Jeancey (talk) 15:43, 7 February 2013 (GMT)
I've tried it several times, and always with the same result. In fact, it has never worked, I always have to use tcl in order to get up there. Your explanation sounds reasonable, but when you think about all the times I have tried, it just seems unlikely. Jyggorath (talk) 01:19, 8 February 2013 (GMT)
Found the solution. I wrote about it on the Gardener of Men talk page. Jyggorath (talk) 15:20, 8 February 2013 (GMT)
I ran FNIS generator and it said that I had a file that could cause instability. I removed the file it said and the lift works perfectly for me now. Mine was "Data/Meshes/Actors/Character/behaviors/mt_behavior.hkx". — Unsigned comment by 71.50.99.94 (talk) at 05:05 on 2 August 2013

Follower Stuck in Tel Mithryn[edit]

Someone please help me. I brought my follower into the tower and then did my business and left. I then realized she was stuck in the tower. She keeps using the elevator and every time i get her down she goes back up again. She wont leave the building, and even waiting for days doesnt help. My riekling follows me but she does not. I do not have access to console commands so can someone please help me? I believe i may be screwed :(Faldil (talk) 19:12, 25 February 2013 (GMT)

My follower usually successfully leaves Tel Mithryn if she is on the upper level when I leave (rather than by the door). If this does not work for you, try fast travelling somewhere (like Raven Rock) and she should appear then. If not, try dismissing her from inside Tel Mithryn, fast travelling away, waiting for a few days, and then either going to where you recruit her to see if she has reappeared there, or going back to Tel Mithryn and seeing if she is still inside. --Enodoc (talk) 19:34, 25 February 2013 (GMT)
I finally got it to work! I tried what the above poster said, and it almost worked (she would appear, but then disappear). I ended up pushing her down the elevator, then exiting tel mithryn very quickly. She would follow me out side then turn back, trying to go in again. I kept fus ro dahing her till she was very far away and it worked!! I am NEVER letting her back in there again. Thank you Faldil (talk) 00:55, 27 February 2013 (GMT)

No Bed[edit]

After I completed Neloth's available quest I was able to become a member of his house. When you ask him "What does it mean to be a member of your house? he blabs about morrowind and then "In the mean time we would keep a bed and chest here for you."

So far their hasn't been an available bed around for me to sleep on. I assume that a bed was suppose to spawn in the storage room? Their is a bed there, just that it's not available for me to sleep on. I guess it belongs to the apprentice.

The "official" Bethesda reason can be found here: https://help.bethesda.net/app/answers/detail/a_id/18340/
"Neloth is eccentric and possibly insane so you should take whatever he promises with a grain of salt." :p

With much research, after I submitted my first post, I believe the location to which you can rest, and store your items in Tel Mithryn is located at Tel Mithryn Steward's House You just need to loot a certain persons body to obtain the Steward's House key, and you're all set and ready to go. Raijin (talk) 11:21, 28 February 2013 (GMT)
It was suggested by Jeancey at DB talk:Old Friends that the bed and chest in the Steward's House are provided at the end of Reluctant Steward, and not as a result of the Old Friends quest. I personally think that the bed and chest mentioned just do not exist. --Enodoc (talk) 15:46, 28 February 2013 (GMT)
I think we should just go with the official response, that neloth is crazy and the bed he gave you doesn't exist... just be happy he doesn't make the tentacles come out of your eyes... again... Jeancey (talk) 16:21, 28 February 2013 (GMT)

Tel Mithryn Door[edit]

When I am inside the main tower, activating the map shows that there is two way-outs to the outer world of Solstheim. But I could found only one Door that is the usual one, beside the levitation rune. While in the settlement also the local map indicates there is two ways to enter the main tower, but I could find only one. Where is the second entrance? — Unsigned comment by 117.194.0.6 (talk) at 16:08 on 26 August 2013

I'm wondering about that too. Maybe there is a roof entrance which you can see from the air when riding a dragon using Bend Will... Thundre (talk) 08:14, 21 February 2014 (GMT)
I had a look, and it turns out that there's a second door right behind the regular one. It leads to the second floor of the tower, placing you where you access the levitation shaft. I guess there was originally going to be another entrance, and they changed their minds and forgot to take it out of the game. --Dorsal Axe (talk) 21:54, 26 February 2014 (GMT)
My guess is that it was used for quest-testing purposes before the levitation shaft was fully functional and just never removed. (It's actually somewhat more difficult to remove things when modding than it is to add them.) — TheRealLurlock (talk) 04:09, 27 February 2014 (GMT)
I had sold somethings to Master "Whats his name" though i wasn't supposed to, so I had a thought to look beyond the walls...aka phase through on the Xbox 360 version...and i found the extra door plus 2 chests; one with my stuff and one that had A HUGE amount of spell books...even the FLY SPELL well actually it didn't cause "flight" just lets me jump very high before death from the falling. TT_TT. oh well and stranger still is that it is under restoration as the books color but each time i open the spells list it changes classes... btw when i tried the door, the game started loading but dropped me from the top of the mushroom outside into a black abyss...--69.195.19.135 05:58, 28 January 2016 (UTC)

Locked Entrance[edit]

Is the entrace to the entire tower supposed to be locked at anytime? Cause it was for me after completing At The Summit of Apocrypha.24.15.19.133 22:11, 19 July 2014 (GMT)

False Requirement[edit]

Both the Tel Mithryn and Miscellaneous Quests sections state that the Experimental Subject (B) quest has a prerequisite of At The Summit of Apocrypha. This is not true. I have personally completed not only that quest but every Tel Mithryn Quest (save for the main quest and black book hunting radiant quests) before even doing Dragon Rising or any of the Dragonborn main quests. I would edit the pages myself but I am not too familiar with the proper formatting and such so I will just say it here — Unsigned comment by 99.7.27.159 (talk) at 21:51 on 9 March 2021 (UTC)

This corresponds with another discussion here, so I've made the change. --Oriwa Talk 22:23, 9 March 2021 (UTC)
