Race/Class[edit]

Werebear, and NPCs like Torkild using this as template have the Werewolf class. The Werebear itself has a race of DLC2WerebearBeasstRace, that has a full name of "Werewolf" in the game data. NPCs using this as template change that race. --Alfwyn (talk) 12:12, 13 December 2012 (GMT)

So the race is DLC2WerebearBeasstRace? Or the Class is DLC2WerebearBeasstRace? Because Torkild is a nord race, and not werewolf race.... Jeancey (talk) 12:20, 13 December 2012 (GMT)
The race of the (generic) NPC called Werebear is DLC2WerebearBeastRace ("Werewolf"). So far we used the full name found in the game data in such cases, and not the editor ID. I'm wondering a bit if that really is a good idea, since the devs apparently don't care that much about names only displayed in the CK. The case of Torkild is that he uses the Werebear NPC as template and inherits the class from it, but changes the race to Nord. The class in all those cases is EncClassWerewolf or "Werewolf". --Alfwyn (talk) 12:30, 13 December 2012 (GMT)

Speech bug?[edit]

* Even in the beast form, they may talk like normal human beings.

Is this a bug? Sounds to me like it may be. --Xyzzy Talk 15:49, 6 April 2013 (GMT)

Sounds like a bug. Sometimes I hear Aela talk even when she is in beast mode, but I don't think it is suppose to happen, I would think this is something similar. — Kimi the Elf (talk | contribs) 16:06, 6 April 2013 (GMT)
I made this change recently. It's easy to make them "talk". I encountered three men in the wildness. They turned hostile and transformed into werebears. Due to the Shadow Warrior perk, they had to search for me again (still in beast form). At this time, they said something like "Where are you?" or "I'm sure I heard something." like normal bandits. Dreamshadow (talk) 00:16, 7 April 2013 (GMT)
Sounds like an oversight by the devs. I'll add it to the Bugs section. --Xyzzy Talk 04:03, 7 April 2013 (GMT)

Weakness to Silver Weaponry[edit]

The last sentence of the first paragraph states that silver weapons are especially effective against werebears. However, the "Bugs" section notes that werebears actually AREN'T vulnerable to the silver weapon perk unless you're playing the PC version and have installed the unofficial Dragonborn patch. So it seems to me that the sentence in the first paragraph should be omitted, unless I'm overlooking something here. — Unsigned comment by 76.182.13.146 (talk) at 19:41 on 30 May 2013‎

Thanks for catching this! It's true that they are not affected by silver weapons without that mod, I've removed the line from the main body of the article. Thanks again. :) — ABCface 20:16, 30 May 2013 (GMT)
No problem! (Forgot to sign my post before) Dukesilver (talk) 15:18, 1 June 2013 (GMT)

Spell or Script[edit]

Im just curious, but when they turn into their werebear form is it a spell or a Script? Dunehelm (talk) 02:23, 26 February 2014 (GMT)

Werebear Spirits[edit]

Discussion moved from User talk:Silverflagon

I met 3 men on the West Coast of Solstheim when they got close they changed to werebears, when they were killed their invisible spirits returned and were very hard to spot to kill (I aimed at where the red dots were and I am sure now that one of my shouts would of helped). So far I can find no mention of them in the wiki. Has anyone else reported them?— Unsigned comment by Silverflagon (talkcontribs) at 11:59 on 27 September 2014

After transforming they howl like wolves[edit]

I watched the 3 werebears transform and they howl like a werewolf which is strange. :-) Wysiwyg (talk) 12:54, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
