The Fighters Guild, present across all of Tamriel, provides a common, and more importantly, public place of training and study for those of the warrior persuasion. The guild is a professional organization chartered by the Emperor to regulate the hiring and training of mercenaries. Training, goods, and services are cheaper for members, and the Guild Stewards know where to find work.

The Fighters Guild was founded in the 320th year of the 2nd Era by Versidue-Shaie at the suggestion of Dinieras-Ves "the Iron" to provide for public order without having to resort to standing armies. At first, it was called The Syffim ('soldiers' in Tsaesci). Although it began as an Akaviri-only organization, it eventually opened its doors to all races.

[edit] Daggerfall

In Daggerfall, the Fighters Guild is a guild that emphasizes combat skill. It offers private contracts and training, repair, and a place to sleep. It is highly organized, and none of the quests you may undertake have a negative impact on other factions.

[edit] Morrowind

The Fighters Guild is somewhat organized in Morrowind, but the Guild suffers from corruption in the higher ranks. It still performs private contracts, but some of them are Camonna Tong oriented. During these quests the player tends to attack the Thieves Guild or eliminate people who have been a thorn in the Cammonna Tong's side. To become Guildmaster of the Fighters Guild, the player must either help Percius Mercius clean up the guild and kill off corrupted guild members, or follow Hard-Heart's orders to put the Fighters Guild under total Camonna Tong control and kill the leaders of the Thieves Guild.

[edit] Oblivion

The Fighters Guild is highly organized in Cyrodiil and is run by a ruling family, the Dontons. Recent competition with a new guild of mercenaries, the dubious Blackwood Company, has cost the guild some money, and many guild members are defaulting on contracts or causing trouble. The questline involves the player cleaning up the guild, investigating the source of Blackwood Company's power, and finally destroying the competition.
