Lore:Mundus

- “Accounts of the Middle Dawn are the province of the Empire of Men, and proof of the deceit that call themselves the Aedra. Eight stars fell on Tamriel, one for each iniquity that Lorkhan made clear to the world. Veloth read these signs, and he told Boethiah, who confirmed them, and he told Mephala, who made wards against them, and he told Azura, who sent ALMSIVI to steer the True Folk clear of harm. Even the Four Corners of the House of Troubles rose to protect the periphery of your madness. We watched our borders and saw them shift like snakes, and saw you run around in it like the spirits of old, devoid of math, without your if-thens, succumbing to the Ever Now like slaves of the slim folly, stasis.” — Where Were You when the Dragon Broke

[edit] The Creation of Mundus
Mundus was first conceptualised by Lorkhan, who then convinced other et'Ada (except the Padomay aligned et'Ada; the Daedra) to help him in the construction of it. Of these Aedra, Magnus became the Architect, who drew up the plans for it. Some of the et'Ada gave parts of themselves entirely to the creation of Mundus, these became the eight planets (not including Nirn) of Mundus (representing the Eight Divines, or Aedra), Lorkhan gave himself completly in the creation, and so became the final planet; Nirn (a.k.a. The Arena). Soon after the planets had formed, Magnus (the Architect) became disgusted at what Mundus was, and so left, while doing so he ripped a hole in Oblivion (The realm of Daedra that surrounds Mundus and covers it from Aetherius, which imitates the true void of Padomay), through to Aetherius (This rip is viewed as the sun, it also gives Mundus no limitations to magic). Others soon followed after Magnus, these et'Ada left smaller rips, and became the stars (which are exactly the same distance away from Nirn as Magnus's hole, while still being a different size). Some et'Ada didn't manage to get away from Mundus and were left on Nirn as spirits; some changing into the Earthbones, some into the Ehlnofey and some wasting away into nothingness.
[edit] The Punishment of Lorkhan
Because of Lorkhan's trickery of the other et'Ada, the Aedra (the ones who formed the planets), met in the tower of Direnni (a.k.a. the Adamantine Tower or the Ur-Tower), to discuss the punishment of Lorkhan. Lorkhan's heart was then ripped out, and flung into the sea (where Vvardenfell is now), settling in the depth of Red Mountain, forming the First Stone and Red Tower.
[edit] Notes
- Mundus is that Latin word for "World" or "Universe", but also Latin for "Clean" or "Elegant".
