Lore:Places Y
[edit] Yellow Road
The Yellow Road road runs north to south from the Imperial City to Leyawiin along the east side of Niben Bay.
[edit] Yeorth Burrowland
Yeorth Burrowland is an area near Anticlere in southern High Rock. Two notable locations are close by, Ravennian Forest and Cryngaine Field. The forest is where the armies of Sentinel camped after the battle of Reich Gradkeep and before the Battle of Cryngaine Field. The 18th of Morning Star is known as the Waking Day, when the people of the Yeorth Burrowland wake the spirits of nature after the winter, somewhat like their more reverential ancestors, in one of the oldest holidays in High Rock.
[edit] Ykalon
The Fiefdom of Ykalon is a region of High Rock, in the Iliac Bay. It is surrounded by Phrygias to the northeast, Daenia and Urvaius to the east, and Northmoor & Ilessan Hills to the south. Castle Llugwych, a former headquarters of the Blades, was located in this region. Thrafey vampires are known to stalk prey here. Forces from Ykalon participated in the Battle of Firewaves which brought about the defeat of the Camoran Usurper. Perserverance Day is a festival held every year by the people of Ykalon during Sun's Dawn, though it was originally a solemn day of memorial for those killed in the battle.
[edit] Yneslea
Yneslea is a region of land that lies somewhere between Tamriel and Akavir. It was conquered by Uriel Septim V in 3E 279 during the opening stages of his campaign against the Dragon Land. By 3E 288, unrest had broken out, causing the emperor to divert two legions that had been intended as reinforcements to pacify the inhabitants instead, ultimately contributing to the failure of the invasion.
[edit] Yokuda
The western continent of Yokuda, which sank into the sea in ancient times, was the original home of the Redguards. The meaning of the name is unknown. Although Yokuda no longer exists, it is included on one map of Western Tamriel, and there is some evidence of contact between Tamrielic explorers and Yokudans. According to residents of Anvil, ships still sail to Yokuda from Anvil, and some sources refer to the continent as if it still exists in some form. The largest land mass was Akos Kasaz, though the continent was also composed of over half a dozen large islands, such as Samara, Khibi, Kamlesh, and Kanesh. It is unknown whether the landmasses south of the Sea of Pearls, such as Ravan, are or were traditionally considered part of Yokuda.
Yokudan society was very advanced for its time. Yokudan navies were superior to those found among Tamrielic kingdoms, and their astronomical knowledge, martial arts, agriculture, politics, and philosophy were all very advanced. It's debated whether the destruction which caused the Yokudans to flee was due to natural causes, acts of the Yokudans, or both. Yokuda was the scene of frequent warfare, and there are tales blaming the cataclysm on a rebel band of Ansei, magical swordsmen whose secret techniques are reputedly capable of such devastation.
