The Rourken are a clan of rebellious Dwemer who refused to join the First Council and make peace with the Chimer, under Indoril Nerevar. They chose exile instead. According to legend their leader hurled the great hammer Volendrung towards the setting sun and vowed to settle wherever it landed. They built their new home on the isle of Stros M'Kai, where their holds and bridges are still well-preserved.
