General Warhaft had served as leader of the Imperial Guard under Emperor Uriel Septim VII, to whom he was both a bodyguard and close friend.

He, along with his emperor, were betrayed by Imperial Battlemage Jagar Tharn in 3E 389 in the events that would be known as the Imperial Simulacrum. The two were rescued ten years later by a mysterious champion under the guidance of Ria Silmane, who was given the General's "deepest respect" afterwards.

Not much else is known about the General, but he commissioned the writing and publication of the Manuals of Arms and Armor, to serve as guides to all officers of the Legion regarding their standard equipment.
