Quote[edit]

"North of the Highest bluffs, south of the moors, west of the hills, and east of the sea is called DAGGERFALL. 110 men, 93 women, 13 children under 8 years of age, 58 cows, 7 bulls, 63 chickens, 11 cocks, 38 hogs live here." -- Book of Life

I have always wondered why we include this quote here (when we do it on few pages). I am not to sure we should include quotes on any page. We aren't writing news articles; we are essentially writing an encyclopedia. elliot (talk) 05:56, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

I for one am not attached to it; I kept it when I revamped this page because I want to change as little of the original page as I could while still expanding upon it. Quotes have their place in general, though. Some pages have to cover quite a bit of material, and a choice quote here and there can be economical because it says more on its own than a whole paragraph of analysis. I think it was a bit out of place personally. I would recommend keeping it removed. Although it probably wouldn't hurt to add in another note on the Book of Life. --DKong27 Tk Ctr Em 16:39, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
I don't find anything appealing about having a census report on the article. I agree with its removal. --Legoless 19:05, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

() I noticed that there are quotes on the Vivec article as well. Do we want to get rid of them all? elliot (talk) 00:20, 30 September 2011 (UTC)

There's a lot of quotes used in this style. It was a favourite of User:Benould. I'd suggest a CP topic for further discussion. rpeh •TCE 00:23, 30 September 2011 (UTC)

Daggerfall in the Skyrim Era[edit]

Why does every Breton in Skyrim call Daggerfall his home, when everyone else claims their entire province? It seems like every Breton in Skyrim who is not a Forsworn is from Daggerfall. I can't think of a single reference to "High Rock" in the game. Redguards will reference Hammerfell, Imperials talk about being from Cyrodiil, and Dunmer will talk about Morrowind, but Bretons all specify Daggerfall. Did something happen in the mean time, where Daggerfall is now not only the largest city and state in High Rock, but the new name of the province as well? I didn't see it in the Lore, but I might just be missing things. It just seems to me that there would be people claiming Wayrest and Evermore as their homes too, but all the Bretons want to talk about is Daggerfall. Even Hadvar assumes you're from Daggerfall when you choose Breton as your race. What happened to the rest of High Rock? It's not like Argonians introduce themselves with "I'm Gecko-Sells-Insurance, and I'm from Stormhold." No, they talk about Black Marsh, even though there's references to Black Marsh changing its name to back to Argonia. Why is Daggerfall different?Black jack king 09:55, 22 May 2012 (UTC)

Well, wayrest was sacked by pirates about 20 years before the events of skyrim. Vos 19:45, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
