[edit] Remove Skills?
The latest edit to the Light Armor definition (pointing out the difference between MW and OB) has made me think that we should delete all the skill definitions from the dictionary. The entries on the Lore pages don't contain anything useful, don't define anything that people won't already know, and suffer from game-specific problems. Any useful information on these subjects is already on the game pages. Comments? –Rpeh•T•C•E• 03:24, 24 January 2009 (EST)
- I'd agree - I've also found it a little silly that we need to tell people what an "Axe" is. In fact, I'd also say attributes and classes should be removed, and in fact, any word in the Dictionary that's also a common word in the English language (Possible exception being the Birthsigns, which have specific symbolic meaning in the ES universe). This should be a dictionary for ES-specific terms, words you wouldn't see in every day life. I think terms like "Strength", "Speed", "Intelligence", "Archer", "Barbarian", "Knight", etc. are pretty much common knowledge to anyone with a grade-school education, and don't need to be explained here. In the game namespaces, of course they should be, but they're just not relevant to Lore. --TheRealLurlock Talk 10:17, 24 January 2009 (EST)

- True. People's names should probably come off too. I mean, "A'tor - proper noun 1. A person's name, see A'tor." really isn't much help. A lot of the redirects linking to these pages should be re-jigged too: I'd redirect the birthsigns to the Astronomy page, for instance.

- At the same time we should probably look at moving some of the Lore articles to these pages and turning the articles into redirects. We have a lot of perma-stubs that could sensibly be moved into the Dictionary instead. –Rpeh•T•C•E• 11:18, 24 January 2009 (EST)
- Like half of those stubs I made a few weeks ago, for instance. Skills should probably go, unless we feel that certain ones have the status of a school or formalized technique in the world. The magic schools, for instance.Temple-Zero 12:54, 24 January 2009 (EST)
