Needs more interlinking[edit]

Article needs some interlinking fixes by people that know the UESP article structure better than i. --Taurmin 14:08, 4 May 2007 (EDT)

Actually, article needs to be deleted and rewritten so that it is not a verbatim copy of Wikipedia's article. --TheRealLurlock Talk 17:29, 4 May 2007 (EDT)

Italics?[edit]

what's with the italics?Temple-Zero 22:04, 4 August 2008 (EDT)

Looks like somebody made an error in a previous edit. Fixed now. --Gaebrial 03:13, 5 August 2008 (EDT)

Size?[edit]

It may not have ever been mentioned in the games, but how large is the original Daggerfall Numidium?

If it has the potency to conquer quite a bit of Tamriel (or at the very least the Illiac Bay region) I would estimate it to be absolutely titanic.

1000 feet tall at the least. 10,000 feet tall at max.— Unsigned comment by 72.222.242.35 (talk) at 00:32 on August 11 2011

Akulakhan was built from the original schematics for Anumidium, and the end of Morrowind gives an idea of the size of the completed golem. — Unsigned comment by 90.44.125.152 (talk) at 13:00 on 30 January 2012 (GMT)

Cleanup Tag[edit]

I'm going to go ahead and remove the reference to the game Daggerfall. I'll just take out that whole sentence. It only discusses the game Daggerfall. That information should not be missed here. Axxchor 01:09, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

I'm going to take this opportunity to add a note about the Daggerfall appearance. Although we don't include that kind of thing in the article itself, we do mention game appearances in the Notes section. Thanks for alerting my attention to this.--Kalis AgeaYes? 'The' Numidium?[edit]

I've typically seen it referred to just as 'Numidium', without an article, but I looked into it and the sources seem to be very conflicted. Even within a single letter from Daggerfall, the usage changes: "a gargantuan creature called the Numidium" but "the Totem, with the rest of Numidum, was lost". The most common usage in those letters in the no-article version, though.

The Arcturian Heresy: "He blows the Numidium apart."
Response to Bero's Speech: "we don't know how Numidium was created"
On Morrowind: "rumors suggest that Vivec offered Numidium"

I think we should have a declared usage for the wiki to keep things consistent. I personally favor the no-article version, since it's typically used as the name of the construct, not a description. -- Hargrimm(T) 00:48, 11 December 2013 (GMT)

Location of Numidium and Tribunal Discovery[edit]

Is there a source about where the Tribunal found the Numidium? The article says "By the end of the Second Era, the Morrowind Tribunal had possession of Numidium" but the source provided (The Dissident Priests statement) doesn't quite say much about it. If they found it at the same time as they found the Heart or at one of their trips to Red Mountain to renew their powers it should be added in the article at some point Hunts-for-Wisdom (talk) 12:21, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

No source mentions this information specifically, but since Yagrum Bagarn and Baladas Demnevanni claim that it was made by the Dwemer using Kagrenac's Tools, it does seem likely that the Dunmer simply found it at some point after the disappearance of the Dwemer. So far there's no exact date for this; maybe new information in ESO: Morrowind will shed some light on the matter. --Vordur Steel-Hammer (TINV1K) 17:48, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

"Anumidum"[edit]

Is there an in-game source for the name "Anumidum" (specifically Morrowind)? The only instances on the wiki from the game are for "Anumidium" (note spelling), and apart from a developer interview transcript the former doesn’t appear anywhere outside talk pages and a few articles. It could be a persistent typo, but bears confirmation. Echo (talk) 00:20, 15 June 2018 (UTC)

I can't find anything supporting that spelling. The Anumidium Plans, Baladas Demnevanni's dialogue, and Skeleton Man's Interview with Denizens of Tamriel all use the correct "Anumidium". —Legoless (talk) 19:59, 15 June 2018 (UTC)
I think it's safe to say its a typo. The name was added by Benould in 2008, and his edits are otherwise in general good standing. The only things on google are some forum posts (some of which interchange the two "alternate" spellings), and a series of videos and a username on youtube. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 20:29, 15 June 2018 (UTC)
That’s what I was suspecting. So unless someone comes up with something in the next day or so, I think we can safely change that. Echo (talk) 04:52, 16 June 2018 (UTC)

Sheogorath mentions Numidium in ESO[edit]

I'm doing the mages' guild quest and noticed Sheogorath mentions Numidium (and the Staff of Chaos). Exact dialogue in quest "Long Lost Lore," under step "Talk to Sheogorath":

"A few tasks, the odd deathtrap. Nothing so difficult as, say, reassembling the Staff of Chaos or rebuilding the Numidium."

Apparently these are objectives found in the 1st and 2nd ES games. — Unsigned comment by 184.155.152.199 (talk) at 01:08 on 9 May 2022 (UTC)

That is true. Sheogorath mentions them during this quest. It is mentioned also at this page:
