Fan Image[edit]

I've removed [[:File:HighRockSmart.jpg|HighRockSmart.jpg]] from the article. It's a fan image from The Imperial Library, and doesn't belong on the article. --Legoless 16:04, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

Orsinium sacked in the 4th Era?[edit]

Is this true? I don't see a reference regarding the sacking, so I'm a bit confused. I've certainly never heard of any rumours or read any books that indicated Orsinium was sacked in the 4th era... I wonder if it is true, could we perhaps find the reference for it? 86.179.95.234 13:04, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

It's from Lord of Souls. The article needs reference tags. --Legoless 13:47, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

Rebuilt Again[edit]

I don't know if Dawnguard has any new info on Orsinium, but I've been meaning to bring this up for a while. I think we can safely say that Orsinium was rebuilt after the sack in the Fourth Era. Skyrim:Loading Screens says Orsinium "has been sacked and rebuilt many times." We know it was sacked in First Era, rebuilt, then sacked again in the Fourth Era. But the plain meaning of the loading screen is that it was rebuilt more than once. Ergo, while I admit it's not the best source possible, I think it's safe for us to say on this page that Orsinium was rebuilt again after the sack in the Fourth Era. Well, the policy about original research frown upon edits like this (not sure why though), but even without that it's just too far-fetched. I mean, there's a lot of Tamriel's history that we do not know, specifically when Orsinium was sacked and then rebuilt multiple times. Besides, nothing really implies the sack in the 4th was as bad as the one in the 1st Era. Maybe it needed little to no rebuilding at all. But from that same loading screen it is, however, possible to deduct that Orsinium still exists in 4E 201. -- kertaw48 09:02, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
There's a fine line between original research and explaining meaning, and I wasn't sure where this falls, so I figured I should play it safe. But I think the screen's existence and info is enough for us to conclude, at least, that the kingdom was rebuilt in some form after the fall of Nova Orsinium in the early Fourth Era. And while the screen doesn't explicitly say Orsinium still exists in 4E 201 (who knows; it may have been rebuilt, sacked, rebuilt, and sacked again in the years following the events TIF), it would strike me as especially odd for them to include a loading screen discussing an extinct kingdom which makes no appearance in the game. The original research policy allows for exceptions. This appears to be one. If anyone has an objection, a note could be added to clarify its second rebuilding. —Legoless 13:10, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
Since it's derived information, a note thoroughly explaining it would be welcome. Some references as well, but I digress. :P -- kertaw48 08:09, 1 July 2012 (UTC)

How many times is it safe to assume?[edit]

As of some editing conflict at Tamriel page. The very first Orsinium was sacked in the early First Era, so it was 1. Next, this article says, "The first Orsinium was rebuilt and razed again at least two more times", so it makes at least 3 times total at the time of ESO. And then under Nova Orsinium it says, "At some point later, the Orcs again lost control of Orsinium", making it at least 4 times total.

Now keep in mind that some NPCs in ESO say that it was sacked "uncountable" or "many" (I don't remember the exact phrase) times after the first Orsinium. How many is "many"? Even if it is hyperbolized it means more that 2.

Even without that though it is safe to assume that Orsinium was sacked at least 4 times in its history. Phoenix Neko (talk) 11:14, 21 May 2016 (UTC)

The fifth time was described in the book Lord of Souls. Anyway, it was certainly razed several times, and I think a generic term would be better than "at least x". The previous version ("many times") kinda implied a big amount of Orsinium's destructions, which doesn't have to be true, so I'd go for something a bit more neutral, like "multiple times". By the way, this discussion should probably go to Lore:Tamriel's talk page. --Vordur Steel-Hammer (TINV1K) 20:02, 21 May 2016 (UTC)

Second Sacking in 2E 431[edit]

Timeline on Elder Scrolls Wiki states Orsinium as experiencing a second sacking in 2E 431. It can, then, be assumed it was rebuilt somewhere between the first sacking and 2E 431. Also, three years later in 2E 434 the "Pale Watch" is formed by a (presumably) Breton lord named Maxevian with the task of keeping the Orsimer out of Wrothgar. Apparently, this history is referenced in Elder Scrolls Online: Orsinium. — Unsigned comment by 65.25.154.141 (talk) at 18:07 on 22 July 2016 (UTC)

The wikia is rarely reliable on lore but this book seems to confirm the date. —Legoless (talk) 18:37, 22 July 2016 (UTC)
