Pankratao Sword?[edit]

Does anyone have a handle on the sources that claim the pankratao sword et al destroyed the continent? — Unsigned comment by Temple-Zero (talkcontribs) at 00:28 on 4 August 2008 (GMT)

A question[edit]

I had read somewhere earlier (cannot for the life of me remember where) that the southern islands of Yokuda (south of the sea of pearls) may not have actually been yokuda, but a separate nation(s). Any more info on this? — Unsigned comment by 97.124.110.242 (talk) on 10 February 2010

Sounds like you mean Thras. rpeh •TCE 06:00, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

Hattu Mountain; Mainland or Island?[edit]

Are we certain that Hattu Mountain, and by extension the High Desert, are located on the mainland? According to the Lefthander Aegis Belt Hattu Mountain is still inhabited as of the mid second era. That implies it was not on the mainland because otherwise it would have been destroyed. - Vonstraya (talk) 02:24, 27 March (UTC)

Perhaps I'm missing something, but this whole "mainland" concept is news to me. The Lost Islands of Old Yokuda seems to imply that Old Yokuda was always islands. Mindtrait0r (talk) 02:36, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
I think that text is referring to just the islands of Yokuda, not all of it, like how Tamriel has islands that are separate from the mainland. The islands still exist following the destruction of Yokuda, while the mainland continent was destroyed. The islands also existed prior to the destruction since there are references to them prior; they're not the tops of the continents' mountains or its shattered remains. - Vonstraya (talk) 02:40, 27 March (UTC)
Is there any particular source which references the islands being separate from a main landmass? If there isn't, I feel like listing such a separation delves too far into theorycraft for a lorepage. Mindtrait0r (talk) 03:09, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
There are references to it all over the place, it's really just a question of semantics and how you define 'continent'. The PGE3 and many other sources says that the continent of Yokuda was destroyed, but there are still references to Yokuda existing such as the aforementioned Lefthander Aegis Belt, the islands depicted on the Map of Western Tamriel, Ulfgar Frog-Eyes dialogue and others. Therefore the use of the word 'continent' must be here used as a synonym for 'mainland' instead of the use of 'continent' in a more abstract categorical way, otherwise it makes no sense. "Yokuda" and the "Continent of Yokuda" are two separate things, in a similar way to how the British Isles are both part of Europe but are separate from the European Continent. - Vonstraya (talk) 03:30, 27 March (UTC)
