Assarnatamat Shrine

Assarnatamat is a shrine to Mehrunes Dagon on the Foyada Mamaea southeast of Caldera. ^[edit]

The shrine is located northeast of Balmora, just inside the Ashlands region. It is home to a couple of tough Daedra worshippers, including Thovasi Alen, who wears the Shoes of Sanguine Stalking needed for a Morag Tong quest. The outside is guarded by several leveled Daedra.

Assarnatamat is literally the Center of the World, at coordinates [0,0]. One curious side-effect of this shrine's central location is that occasionally, if you use a Command spell to lure a person or creature into a different location than they start in, and then leave them there unattended for too long, they will occasionally disappear and later be found wandering around this shrine, doubtless as confused as you are how they got there.
On certain unpatched versions of Morrowind, if you drop an item while underwater, the item will also respawn at this location [0,0].
