Odral Helvi in the Governor's Hall in Caldera will ask you to replace some 'erroneous' land deeds for the Ascadian Isles he has found in the Hlaalu Records in Vivec. The deed he gives you is obviously fake. There is now a choice between three paths: you can either steal the real deed from the vault, report it to Crassius Curio, or bring it to the attention of the seller, Rovone Arvel.

[edit] Option#1: Reporting to Curio

If you talk to Curio about the matter and give him the fake deed, he'll reward you with an Amulet of Domination. Then you can talk to Baren Alen in the Hlaalu Treasury Vaults about some erroneous documents and he will sell you a copy of the real deed Helvi requested for ten gold. Helvi will believe you replaced the fake deed.

[edit] Option#2: Reporting to Arvel

Another option is to take the deed to Rovone Arvel, at his plantation north of Vivec. He will be very appreciative of your efforts and reward you with a Murdrum Ring. You can then talk to Baren Alen about making a copy of the real deed as above.

[edit] Option#3: Stealing the Deed

Stealing the deed isn't too difficult. It can be found in the Hlaalu Canton in Vivec. Go through the Hlaalu Treasury in the waistworks, and then through the Hlaalu Vaults and find the Hlaalu Records office. Look for a small chest on the middle shelf of one of bookcases. The deed is in a box that is locked, and there's a woman and an Ordinator in the room, so it requires a few skills in Sneak (Chameleon works great too), but it is still quite simple. Take out the Ascadian Isles Land Deed and drop Odral's Land Deed.

[edit] Ending the Quest

Return to Helvi with the real or fake land deed to complete the quest. You will receive six scrolls (2 Scroll of Uth's Hand of Heaven, 2 Scroll of The Black Storm, 2 Scroll of Tranasa's Spelltwist) for completing the quest.

If Baren Alen is dead, Crassius Curio will still take the fake land deed and tells you to give Odral the real documents, leaving you no other choice than to steal them.
