Light M points in R feet for D seconds

Creates a glowing light source on the target. When cast on a living creature or humanoid (including yourself), that creature will glow for the duration (or until they are killed). When cast as a Target spell on anything else, the projectile will glow until it hits something, at which point that area will continue to remain lit for the duration.

[edit] Notes

  • The need for a Light spell depends greatly upon the viewer. The gamma setting in the game, and the brightness and contrast settings on your monitor/television can all have an effect on the amount of light you see. By default, very few areas in Morrowind are dark enough to really need additional light. There are numerous 3rd-party plug-ins that attempt to create more darkness in various ways in order to make this effect more useful.
  • Light can be useful for seeing your way through dark passages, but it is not very conducive to stealth. If you wish to improve your vision without revealing your location to anything nearby, consider a Night Eye spell instead.
  • Another alternative if you are less skilled in magical arts is to carry around a light source of some sort. This of course means you may not use a shield or 2-handed weapon, but in some cases, the extra light may be worth the sacrifice.
