The Mudcrab Merchant is a friendly Mudcrab who can be found on a small island just to the east of Mzahnch in the Azura's Coast region (map). He is an easter egg and is notable as the richest of all merchants in the game, and also because he is (along with Creeper) one of the only two creature merchants, meaning that he will buy and sell items at their base cost, rather than adjusting them for Disposition and Mercantile skill as NPC merchants will. Be careful, as he is indistinguishable from an ordinary Mudcrab on first sight, and located in an area where there may be other Mudcrabs nearby, so you may kill him by accident.

Mudcrab deals in fewer goods than Creeper, though he makes up for it by having more money to barter with. (Armor and weapons tend to be among the most expensive items anyhow.) Still, if 10000 gold still isn't enough to sell some of the more valuable items, there are a few ways to can work around it:

• Sell him cheaper items first, then wait a day, come back and buy the cheaper items back from him and then use his temporarily increased gold stash to sell the more expensive things. You can then sell him back the cheaper items the next day.
• Sell him gold. This will increase his gold supply for a longer period of time, during which you can sell him your more expensive items.
• There are also numerous 3rd-party mods available which make him rich enough to afford the more expensive items.

As a creature, Mudcrab is one of the few merchants who will purchase Skooma (but not Moon Sugar, since he doesn't deal in ingredients).

• There are a few reports saying that the Mudcrab's inventory can reset, ie all the items you have sold him will disappear forever. Don't sell him anything you aren't willing to lose.
