[edit] Quick Walkthrough

1. Talk to Master Aryon in the Upper Tower in Tel Vos for chores.
2. Speak to Telvanni to learn who to recruit as your Mouth: Edd Theman.
3. Travel to Balmora to recruit Fast Eddie.
4. Give him a Silver Staff of Peace to convince him.
5. Return to Aryon to complete the quest.

Once you reach the rank of Spellwright, Councillor Aryon in the Upper Tower of Tel Vos will ask you to recruit a Mouth in order to be promoted to a Telvanni Wizard. Ask Aryon and he will mention a possible candidate in Balmora.

[edit] Your Future Mouth

Keep asking around the Telvanni to yield the name Edd Theman (also known as Fast Eddie and Eddie the Rat, wonderful). You can speak with Caius Cosades in his house in north-east Balmora to learn more on Edd. He was a former Telvanni wizard but joined the Mages Guild. Edd is apparently colorful but unreliable, though a good source for House Telvanni gossip.

[edit] Finding Fast Eddie

Edd's house is a little difficult to find, since it doesn't show up on your map. Itan's House (near Eight Plates) is underneath Eddie's, so find one and you will find the other. The icon on the map will only show Itan's. Fast Eddie will agree to serve as your Mouth in return for a Silver Staff of Peace (given to you by Aryon at the rank of Lawman, or buy a new one).

Return to Aryon to complete the quest and receive Aryon's Helper (a glove that summons three Atronachs). Note that after this quest Edd will appear in the Telvanni Council House, and not in Balmora. You will be able to ask him to do some jobs later on.
