Quick Walkthrough

1. Talk to Endryn Llethan at the at the High Fane in the Vivec, Temple Canton for your duties.
2. Travel to Ald Sotha to retrieve the Shoes of St. Rilms.
3. Find the shoes in a locked chest under the statue in the Inner Shrine.
4. Return to Endryn to complete the quest.

Detailed Walkthrough

Duties

Once you achieve the rank of Curate, Endryn Llethan at the High Fane in Vivec, Temple Canton, asks you to retrieve a precious artifact of the Tribunal Temple, the Shoes of St. Rilms. Apparently, a priest had a dream about the shoes and saw them in the depths of Ald Sotha, a Daedric Shrine northeast of Vivec. The shoes were in a chest behind a statue of Mehrunes Dagon. Llethan warns you that it may be difficult but provides several good potions to help, notably a potion of heroism.

Ald Sotha

The shrine is to the northeast of the Vivec Telvani canton, and can be entered through an entrance along the water. The shrine has three areas (Upper Level, Lower Level, and Inner Shrine) with a good number of tough opponents (NPCs as high as level 25 and the usual Dremora). Most can be encountered one at a time if you are careful, or not at all if you would prefer the stealth method. The shoes are in a locked (50) chest under the statue in the well-guarded Inner Shrine (the mage here has the key if you need it, as well as several Sanguine items).

Return to Endryn and give back the shoes.

Notes

• Once you reach the rank of Patriarch, you may ask Endryn about the shoes. He will give them to you to keep.
• If you already have the shoes before this quest, you will be given the option to Give her the shoess [sic]

This bug is fixed by the Morrowind Patch Project. The patch corrects this dialog to Give him the shoes
