  1. Talk to Eno Hlaalu at the Storage Area in the Vivec Arena about the Threads of the Webspinner and the Sanguine items.
  2. Acquire the 26 Sanguine items.
  3. Return to Eno to complete the quest.

[edit] Threads of the Webspinner

Depending on how much exploring of the game you've done, you may have come across a number of Sanguine items that increase various skills when worn. These items are actually several of the 27 created by the Daedra Lord Sanguine for the Morag Tong patron, Mephala. Twenty-six of the items can be found scattered across the island, and the last (Amulet of Sanguine Enterprise) is held by the Morag Tong Grandmaster, Eno Hlaalu in Vivec.

Speak with Grandmaster Eno Hlaalu about the items and you'll find that if you return all of the remaining 26, you will receive an elaborate reward from Mephala. You can return the items to Hlaalu at any time, though you must do so before you become Grandmaster and he disappears. Most of the Sanguine items that currently belong to someone, are owned by a Dark Brotherhood agent or a Mehrunes Dagon worshipper, who will generally attack you on sight meaning you are safe from the law. Unfortunately, Eno will only ask you for two of the items directly, you'll have to find the rest for yourself...

1. Amulet of Sanguine Enterprise (+5 Mercantile)

This is the one item you don't need to find, as it is already held by Eno Hlaalu.

2. Amulet of Sanguine Glib Speech (+5 Speechcraft)

This amulet currently belongs to Shotherra who can be found at Thongar's in Khuul. Unfortunately, Shotherra is a peaceful person who you'll have to end up killing to get the amulet (and there is no clue to the fact that she possesses it). She can be taunted into starting the fight, though.

3. Amulet of Sanguine Nimble Armor (+5 Light Armor)
4. Ring of Sanguine Fluid Evasion (+5 Unarmored)
5. Glove of Sanguine Swiftblade (+5 Short Blade)

All three of these Sanguine items can be found on Severa Magia, a powerful magic user in the shrine of Ald Sotha, north-east of Vivec. You'll have to Execute Severa Magia during a quest for Eno.

6. Belt of Sanguine Balanced Armor (+5 Medium Armor)
7. Belt of Sanguine Deep Biting (+5 Axe)

These belts can be found on Relas Arothan in the shrine of Assernerairan , found on the Underworks level of the St. Olms Canton in Vivec. You'll also visit this shrine during the Execute Durus Marius quest.

8. Belt of Sanguine Denial (+5 Block)

This belt can be found on Movis Darys in the Ald'ruhn Mages Guild. You can receive this belt as part of a quest to persuade him to join the Guild. If you can't persuade (or bribe) him you'll have to kill him, so make him start the fight.

9. Belt of Sanguine Fleetness (+5 Athletics)

This belt can be found on a Dark Brotherhood member named Hrordis in the Halfway Tavern in Pelagiad. Eno Hlaalu will ask for it directly (one of two Sanguine items he will ask for), if you haven't already gotten it and handed it in to him. Under normal circumstances, you won't be able to persuade Hrordis or steal the belt - or even Taunt her into attacking you, as all she says is "goodbye" - so you are forced to kill her outright. However, if you're diseased, a vampire, or naked, you'll be able to talk to her. Mentioning Hrordis or Sanguine Fleetness will get you nowhere (she'll become annoyed and say goodbye), but mention the magic words Mehrunes Dagon (you'll need to be told about him first) and she'll attack.

11. Belt of Sanguine Sureflight (+5 Marksman)

These belts can be found on Durus Marius in the shrine of Assernerairan , found on the Underworks level of St. Olms Canton in Vivec. You'll have to Execute Durus Marius during a quest.

12. Belt of Sanguine Impaling Thrus[sic] (+5 Spear)

This belt can be found on Gluronk gra-Shula on the 2nd floor of Sadrith Mora's Gateway Inn: North Wing. Gluronk is another of the few peaceful NPCs that hold a Sanguine item. It's possible to catch her alone and murder her with no witnesses, or taunt her into attacking, though. It does not seem possible to pickpocket the Sanguine Item.

13. Belt of Sanguine Martial Craft (+5 Armorer)

This belt can be found on Carecalmo in the shrine of Ashalmimilkala on the west coast, west of Balmora, north of Hla Oad. You can obtain this belt as part of the Ultimatum for Carecalmo quest.

14. Belt of Sanguine Smiting (+5 Blunt Weapon)

This belt can be found on Domba in the Ald Daedroth shrine, on an island north of the Ahemmusa Camp, and south-east of Dagon Fel.

15. Belt of Sanguine Stolid Armor (+5 HeavyArmor)

This belt can be found on Mindeli Saren in the shrine of Yasammidan on the far western coast of the mainland, north-west of Gnisis.

16. Glove of Sanguine Horny Fist (+5 Hand-to-hand)

This glove can be found on Guril Retheran, on the bottom level of the Flowers of Gold Cornerclub in the Redoran Canton (you may have executed him already in a previous quest).

17. Glove of Sanguine Safekeeping (+5 Security)

This glove can be found on Inganar in the shrine of Ularradallaku (Position 11500, 68900 map), found inside the Ghostfence, roughly north-east of Ald'ruhn and just south-west of Dagoth Ur.

18. Ring of Sanguine Golden Wisdom (+5 Alteration)

This ring is held by Talis Veran in the shrine of Ebernanit, on the northern coast of the mainland, roughly in the center (Position 4100, 143000 map).

19. Ring of Sanguine Green Wisdom (+5 Restoration)

This ring can be found on Gnaw Tooth in the Ald Daedroth shrine, on an island north of the Ahemmusa Camp, and south-east of Dagon Fel.

20. Ring of Sanguine Red Wisdom (+5 Destruction)
21. Ring of Sanguine Transcendence (+5 Conjuration)
22. Ring of Sanguine Transfiguring (+5 Enchant)

These rings can be found on Llandrale Varam in the shrine of Ald Sotha, north-east of Vivec. You'll visit this shrine during the Execute Severa Magia quest.

23. Ring of Sanguine Silver Wisdom (+5 Illusion)

This ring can be found on Earmil in the shrine of Assurnabitashpi (Position -35100, 150000 map), along the northern coast, east of Khuul (note that there are two entrances and areas in this shrine, so if you can't find Earmil in one area, try the other).

24. Ring of Sanguine Sublime Wisdom (+5 Alchemy)

This ring can be found on Anel Rethelas in the shrine of Yasammidan on the far western coast of the mainland, north-west of Gnisis. This is the other one of the two Sanguine items that Eno will ask you directly to retrieve.

25. Ring of Sanguine Unseen Wisdom (+5 Mysticism)

This ring can be found on Erundil in the stronghold of Indoranyon (Position 120000, 76600 map), on the eastern coast, north of Tel Aruhn. Erundil is also usually peaceful, but can be taunted into fighting or simply murdered (there are no witnesses).

26. Shoes of Sanguine Leaping (+5 Acrobatics)

These shoes can be found on the Khajiit Dro'Zaymar, found in Canal South-Three in the St. Delyn Canton. Dro'Zaymar is another peaceful Sanguine holder, but since there are no witnesses, you are relatively safe to do as you please. It is possible to pickpocket the Sanguine item from this NPC. (Somewhat strange is what a Khajiit would be doing with shoes in the first place, since they can't wear them.)

27. Shoes of Sanguine Stalking (+5 Sneak)

These shoes can be found on Thovasi Alen in the shrine of Assarnatamat, found north-east of Balmora (south-east of Caldera), just inside the Ashlands region.

[edit] Reward

Once you turn in all 26 Sanguine items to Eno Hlaalu, you are rewarded with Mephala's Skill, a cheap spell that grants Chameleon 50 pts and Fortify Attack 10 pts for 60 seconds for 30 magicka and never fails. In earlier versions (pre 1.2) of the program, this spell also included a Fortify Skill effect boosting Shortblade 10 pts, and was the only source for the Fortify Skill spell effect in the original game.

  • Clicking the sanguine enterprise topic may incorrectly report that you've returned all 26 missing threads when you've only returned 25.
  • You may not notice when the Mephala's Skill has been added. Be sure to check your spell list.
  • Console cheat for the spell:
