Yassu Mine

Yassu Mine is a working glass mine inside the Ghostfence, near Ghostgate. [edit]

The richest deposit of Raw Glass on Morrowind is in this Imperial glass mine under siege inside the Ghostfence. Two Imperial Legion guards fight an uphill battle against blighted Nix Hounds, but is still in operation.

The riches of this mine explains it being in drift, despite the dangers of Red Mountain's Ash Creatures and Blight from Ash Storms.

Stealing the glass deposits might be tempting, but watch the guards. Not much loot otherwise.

  • 2 Imperial Guards
  • Despite both being Altmer Mages, it is unlikely that this Umbacano is the same one as in Oblivion, given their relative stations in life.
    • It is very interesting, however, that the mine contains both Umbacano and another NPC called Sorcalin. In Oblivion, in the quest for Umbacano Secrets of the Ayleids, he mentions a few times that "Sorcalin described it," referring first to the Ayleid helm and second to the throne room of Nenalata. As such, either these are the same two NPCs or this is an interesting Easter Egg.
