[edit] Blind + Chameleon
There is a suggestion here to use Blind + Chameleon. But isn't Blind an aggressive spell that turns the target hostile? And if so, wouldn't that immediately alert the target to your presence and make it impossible to hide from them? Just want to check this. Hecerinde 00:14, 27 October 2007 (EDT)
[edit] Blind affects to-hit
I don't think the info on this page is right. I think Blind is the counterpart to Sanctuary, it reduces the chance to hit by N%. Is this true?--—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 91.111.50.184 (talk • contribs). This has been marked as a question that needs to be answered.
- I do believe Blind effects the to-hit chance, however I must admit to not have tested it extensively. The Boots of Blinding Speed have 100% Blind on Self, and turn the world dark, so it does affect your vision. --Benould•T•C 01:19, 19 May 2008 (EDT)
- I've just undone a change to the article and placed the text here instead for the moment:
- Causes the target's vision to be obscured, reducing their chance to hit in melee or with marksman weapons. The strength of the spell is the % by which the affected target's chance to hit is reduced (note that some NPCs can have a greater than 100% chance to hit a given target). It is a similar effect to Santuary in this regard. When cast on the player it also literally affects your ability to see clearly, 'fogging' up your view.
- The reaason for this is that I simply don't believe it to be true and there appears to be no evidence for it. I've just finished going through the game as a Breton and wearing the Boots of Blinding Speed almost exclusively (I really dislike that Morrowind is so slow). The Breton race has a magic-resist of 50%, which should mean that I miss my target at least half the time in combat if the above is true. That simply doesn't happen. With my Long Blade skill now at 100, I hardly ever miss. Now I'm not sure what the effect is on NPCs, but the comment shouldn't be put on the article until there's some evidence. –Rpeh•T•C•E• 01:48, 19 May 2008 (EDT)

Actually with an advanced character like that, odds are that you have a significantly greater chance than 100 to hit the opponent, factoring in Agility, Luck and the maxed out skill.

- I don't think blind has any effect on your chance to successfully land an attack. Not even for NPCs. Elvul's Black Blindfold seems to suggest this because its effects are blind and damage marksmen. If blind effects an NPC's chance to hit, the damage marksmen would be somewhat overkill, right? Of course this isn't concrete proof, so perhaps someone should conduct an experiment to verify. —QuakerTroy 21:19, 4 September 2008 (EDT)
