Processus Vitellius[edit]

Not that it really matters, him being dead and all, but I think it's an oversight that this guy (from the Seyda Neen quest) is listed as a member of the Imperial Cult faction and not the Census faction. They are understaffed as it is. -Meisterdieb 15:20, 29 January 2009 (EST)

Well, it's not a mistake - at least on our part. He is indeed listed as being in the Imperial Cult in the CS, and that's what counts. You think that's bad, look at the Imperial Knights faction - that's completely empty. --TheRealLurlock Talk 18:02, 29 January 2009 (EST)

Census and Excise Office[edit]

I'm just wondering why the faction is just named Census and Excise here, rather than its full name of Census and Excise Office. --Gez 16:10, 4 March 2009 (EST)

As far as I'm concerned, it's a mistake. I have been planning to start a discussion about the misnaming of Morrowind factions once the... cause... returns from hiatus so I can't be accused of starting a debate when he's not around. For a brief summary of recent discussions, see Tes3Mod_talk:Tamriel_Rebuilt/Factions - the "Consistency of Naming" and "Faction Reactions redundancy" sections. –RpehTCE 16:23, 4 March 2009 (EST)

Not joinable?[edit]

Faction is described as 'not joinable', but it has listed player ranks along with player attribute requirements. How can it have ranks and rank requirements, if it's impossible to join the faction in the first place?— Unsigned comment by 79.191.18.22 (talk) at 07:05 on 23 January 2019‎

The ranks are not only for the player, but also NPCs, and the attribute requirements are present in the game data, so they are listed, even if it is not possible to actually join the faction. --Vordur Steel-Hammer (TINV1K) 07:43, 23 January 2019 (UTC)

Source on licences[edit]

Just wondering, what's the source on this line: "Census and Excise officers also administer many Imperial licenses, e.g. importation, mercenary company incorporation" — Unsigned comment by ThomasTheWest (talkcontribs) at 21:24 on 10 December 2020 (UTC)

The source is the in-game dialogue for the topic "Imperial Office of Census and Excise":
"Imperial taxes are based on head counts of citizens; Census and Excise is responsible both for head counts and tax assessment and collection. Census and Excise officers also administer many Imperial licenses -- importation, mercenary company incorporation, for example."
Whether the dialogue is ever actually seen by the player is a different question. As with so many other dialogue topics that are present in the game files, this one never seems to get properly introduced. A look in the Construction Set reveals that it does exist, however; presumably the developers intended it to be said at some point. — Wolfborn(Howl) 05:23, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
